Great to see this rescued at last!
Too weedy: most aircraft back then were. This needs to be a great deal more substantial and that seems to be what’s missing from most suggestions so far (or any I can think of).
Nice and obscure though!
A shoulder against the door won’t do much except provide a firm launch, even with just a few psi…
Yes – DV window open + thumbs-up used often to indicate a/c depressurized. However it was still sensible to let the crew open the door first!
We actually had Avro hangers on the 146/RJ flightdeck.
Are these sheds not hangArs?
Depends on whether you should have got your coat. Or in 2000-ese, “…should of got you’re coat”. I’d put an apostrophe in there but can’t find an unsuitable place.
See RNHF website:
Both Swordfish airworthy, Sea Fury, Sea Vixen (being/awaiting fix) etc. Not sure where you got your info from!
Swordfish x2, Sea Fury, Sea Vixen (obviously now at risk), Chipmunk. EDIT: Sea Hawk also.
Ex Coronet maybe?
WW2 personnel records are held at Cranwell and usually require a circa £30 search fee unless you are direct NOK.
Bizarre: in terms of likely candidates, I’d say the FA Bachstelze would be the last thing I’d consider. As J Boyle says, more likely to be a Bensen (sp?) or similar.
Or Amelia and Fred in some sort of home-made contraption possibly?

Depends very much on what you’re looking for.
What news are you looking at ( 😉 ) – reported a good two years ago:
Well it’s not exactly news since many museums rescued aircraft from the Chanute collection a good few years ago. Typical lazy ‘after the fact outrage’ by the news rag I’m afraid.
It’s great in fact that so many key airframes did escape – including the B-58 which must have been a b!tch to move.
Plus of course, any actor would do due diligence and a simple Google would reveal that being linked to TIGHAR would not be something they’d want on their CV…
…or the Typhoon (isn’t it still in Canada?)
