I note that the victim’s weight was quoted as 18st 7lbs: the team which owns to ‘black’ CA Tiger Moth specifies a max weight of 15st.
As ever with these things, there were many causes, but the responsibility would seem to rest in greater part on the pilot.
And I agree with Propstrike’s thoughts on the term, ‘loop the loop’!!! Was such a term ever in use?
Well I have an F-86 (Canadair Sabre 6) seat that I might part with – might be a bargain for someone!
Any news on construction of the replica? Seems to have been no mention for a while now.
What a cracking idea.
Five Me-163s sounds a bit unlikely too.
It’s it, not her. The aeroplane has no female genitalia and is inanimate.
The grammatical demonstration in your last sentence is superseded somewhat by my 6 year old nephew. Now go back to your corner…
Ah bless. Bullied at school?
A couple of her in happier days:

Circa 2000 if memory serves.
Just having one of my sporadic grammar clamp-downs. It’s like Tourette’s of the keyboard. (not that I used ‘it’s’ in the correct sense).
🙂
A year ago XV208 looked like this:

Spares recovery? Not looking good. But as I haven’t heard of any reports of Snoopy’s demise, I assume its still about.
Oh I give up! :eagerness:
I don’t know the answer, but wasn’t it modified rather heavily to allow the fitment of an A400 engine installation? I’d imagine it’s life as a test bed is somewhat limited and given the huge structural changes made, it may have outgrown it’s usefulness.
Dammit! It’s ‘its’ – not ‘it’s’!!
Good luck!
Have you tried the National Archives?
AIR 1/161/15/123/11 – Reports on examinations held at the Technical Officers’ School of Instruction, Henley-on-Thames.
AIR 1/723/66/14 – Syllabus for technical and squadron administrative officers at the Technical Officers School of Instruction.
There may be a few others. I’m sure you know when the RFC was formed – hope my suggestion was more helpful. 😉
Talking of Prentices, circa 1980 we found a Prentice aileron in the woods above Groves/Henderson parade square. I wonder if it’s still there?
The Meteor was certainly there by 1987, but I can’t recall when it departed. I think this is the aircraft that was stored in a field in Yatesbury village, along with a Javelin some time later.
Lyneham had a Hunter also at about this time (1986/7), and various airframes (Vulcan, Victor, Nimrod AEW) which were scrapped/burned before 1994.
Finally (and I really doubt this one fits the bill), there was a Pakistan AF Shenyang Fantan (ex-Martin Baker) in Air Cargo for a while.
So we agree that Meteor Flight’s T7 WF825 WAS at Lyneham.
No-one mentioned WA591 before Post #5.
