I came, I saw, I conked-out Kenneth Williams (technically seven I know, but I hyphenated the last two)

Also, if re-instatement does occur, does this mean we’ll see a “U-turn” on the (seemingly harsh) way that Andy has been treated, perhaps facilitating J.D.K.’s eventual return ? 😀

We must respect the decision of those who have left voluntarily, and not exert any pressure on them to return…

    Pete Truman was already explained..

True, but “rules is rules” unless they’re changed, and apparently they can be….

Does that prohibit a statement to the effect, that no correspondence will be entered into, as the matter is in the hands of the lawyers? it is their complete silence on the matter, that is damaging their reputation, a total lack of courtesy.

That is pretty much the case, but then he knew how many infractions he had against himself and should maybe have exercised more caution.

There were a good number of his posts and one attempt at opening a thread which were deleted for various contraventions of the code of conduct in the days before I gave him the infraction. You might well not have found these.

Given that record I was in no mind to appeal to the webby for the ban to be lifted.

The rules are there for everybody to see. He had had numerous warnings.

Now back to Andy Saunders who, to the best of my knowledge had never received an infraction from a moderator.

To be fair to Pete, I think there were personal issues that crept in over the years; obviously no point in pursuing this one, if after 2 weeks you can’t get a simple civil word from the webmaster r.e Tangmere, with all the support he has, then lowly souls need not hold their breaths.

Yes I found the Goody? (ie?) ( who cares?) thread, whilst trying to locate him, having read his post, I really don’t think that was enough for a permanant ban, and it seemed to me that MoggyC thought he was giving him a month to cool down.

I am aware of the points system, perhaps MoggyC wasn’t aware of Pete’s accumulation of points,(at that moment) and so a case could be (and is) being made for his reinstatement with, obviously a last final warning.

I would also like to say, that I have enjoyed Pete Truman’s posts over the years, he brought a different dimension to the forum, not being obsessed with rivets and roundels, instead talking about his involvement with aeroplanes, airshows, the changing landscape of former airfields, the life long love of aeroplanes etc; his crime was to speak his mind, but not an expert, merely an enthusiast, the forum has (apparently) no use for him, his ilk would appear to be ten a penny….

I am not an expert, I am merely an enthusiast, sobering thought isn’t it?

F**k me we’re back over here again, this is very confusing.

Can I just ask that if members of the forum do feel the need to leave, that their departure thread, is left up for a short while, so that others may contribute, a sort of leaving card.

I am not in total agreement with a mass exodus, and don’t believe that it will accomplish anything, but on a personal note, many have already left over this last year, some I wasn’t even aware had gone.

I had been wondering what happened to Pete Truman, but it’s ok he’s just been banned, nothing serious……
