People are angry, they feel they are being treated as ‘the little people’ they hate to see the Forum losing knowledgeable contributors with no explanation and are using the only weapon they have to voice a protest.

It is tedious, there is no need actually to read them if you find them that bad, but it’s all they have.

The mods have discussed merging them all and moving them to GD, but nobody appears to be doing much about it so I guess they will stay here.

The rule about multiple IDs is unsettling. Over a period of years changing internet providers and e-mail addresses how many people have re-applied for membership of the forum because it was easier than trying to change e-mail address?? Being very much not a computer wizard I suspect I might have done!!

OHOPE. If it is transparency you seek I suggest you participate in Forums that are not owned by a publishing house. Key have interests ‘other than this Forum’ to protect. They may be a little over zealous but they cannot afford to have their name slurred.

As a business model it is an interesting subject. An organisation whose reputation can be damaged by the actions of people who they do not employ. It therefore comes down to trust and monitoring.

Whilst I have reservations about the way situations such as we currently have are managed, ultimately it is their forum. As gets said on here many times, it is theirs so they can do with it what they please. If if were their Spitfire they could paint it purple with pink spots; we might not like it but it is not our decision.

If we don’t like how this place is managed we have the choice of going elsewhere.

In similar times past, a Forum member didn’t like the way this sandpit was being run and chose to set up his own with particular emphasis on the activities in home counties. It is a cozy Forum but does not have the expansivity of this one. Many that go there choose to still visit here although they no longer post a great deal here. It is all down to choice.

I have a strong feeling that we will hear nothing by way of a direct address regarding Tangmere’s situation. I would however like to be wrong.

Farmers and growers around the globe have one thing in common, they are good people when they are producing enough food for the population, right up to the point where supply out strips demand, then they are bad people, just making money, and taking handouts, as if it were they that introduced the legislation.

Was it Roosevelt that said ” Farmers are the only people that buy everything retail, sell everything wholesale, and still have to make a profit” ?

I cannot see any reason that Key owes anyone other than Andy an explanation. They clearly state the conditions of posting and they must feel he has violated these in some way. Wether they are right or not is a matter between them and Andy.
I appreciate what Andy brought to the forum as much as anyone but this subject has been done to death, its becomming more like facebook than a historic aviation site.
We do not pay to post here, its a service offered by Key they dont owe any of us anything.
It would be unfair on Andy if the reason he was banned were made public, if he wants to disclose them thats his business, but certainly not any of ours.

When a member of the KP staff rings me at home, with a few questions, and I take the time to answer them, as accurately as possible, I would only expect the same in return; if the matter is in the hands of their lawyers, then they could say as much , and that would be an end to the matter, but we are a week on and still nothing.
