    Hello Stuart

I cannot see any reason that Key owes anyone other than Andy an explanation. They clearly state the conditions of posting and they must feel he has violated these in some way. Wether they are right or not is a matter between them and Andy.
I appreciate what Andy brought to the forum as much as anyone but this subject has been done to death, its becomming more like facebook than a historic aviation site.
We do not pay to post here, its a service offered by Key they dont owe any of us anything.
It would be unfair on Andy if the reason he was banned were made public, if he wants to disclose them thats his business, but certainly not any of ours.

When a member of the KP staff rings me at home, with a few questions, and I take the time to answer them, as accurately as possible, I would only expect the same in return; if the matter is in the hands of their lawyers, then they could say as much , and that would be an end to the matter, but we are a week on and still nothing.

I would not blame the Mods one minute for closing this thread. This is issue between Andy and Key, it has nothing to do with anyone else on this forum. I think you be waiting along time for an explanation from Key, the only person entitled to one is Andy.

Only half of this is directly concerning Andy Saunders; much of the anger here is because of the lack of information from Key, which makes people feel that they aren’t worth an explanation, the thought that anyone can be removed at anytime, without explanation, isn’t the face of Key Publishing that I recognize.

As Dave T has pointed out, the cached version of the thread(s) is available with a google; have a read and judge for yourselves.

Those of us that browse these forums from work during the week only, have no idea what is going on! Once a decision has been made will we be told what the decision refers to???

    Bit like your employer then….

And just how helpful do you think this is?

Sometimes I fear we are our own worst enemy.

    Regards,

We all deal with it in our own way, thankfully, otherwise this forum would be as boring as sin.

That last shot is very poignant; I read his book a few years ago, a very good read, but also very moving, I’m sure his father would have been proud of him.

i’ve always wanted a bit of 60s civil aviation memorbelia for my garden, but don’t want to pay the earth for it!
about 3 years ago when the Cosford BA collectionwas scrapped, i contacted the company doing the scrapping and asked if i could get either a RR Conway intake or the jet pods from the rear from the 707-436, but the wanted about £500.
If anyone knows where i could get a similar type item ie RR Spey intake from a 1-11 etc i would be interested.
Just want to sit in my garden and have a bit of metal to remind me of package holidays when i was a child
    thanks
    Geoff

Hi Geoff, welcome to the forum; try Hanningfield metals (Essex) they had quite a bit of civil stuff.

They say truth is stranger than fiction; an engine lands on an elevator car, and it hurtles to the ground, but the occupants survive, thanks to a safety mechanism, presumably installed for a cable failure, and not the addition of nearly a ton of radial engine….

Possibly the Bill Francis Mk XVI. He lived in Southend and it was in his back garden for a while before going in to the Southend museum. Timing is right, orchard conflicts.

Failing that I would look to a BoB film GRP replica.

    Mark

Thanks Mark, where did it go from Southend museum? I would think that is more likely than a GRP replica, as my source was adamant that it was a real A/C.

A friend of mine “recalls” seing and or playing on a “Spitfire” located in the Rochford/Hockley (Essex) area in th ’70’s, apparently it was in an orchard next to a house; any bells?

Yes…it is a disgrace !! Parking charges and telephone charges are extortionate.I believe the minimum parking charge at my ‘local’ is £1.20 even if you are only there 10mins

Thats nothing, they even charge the staff! and that is nothing more than a pay cut.
