Interesting images.
By any chance, which collectables shop is this?
So, yesterday, almost four years after its serious incident, OY-FGA took to the skies again. Yes, after all the aircraft was rebuild using the tail section from a doner-Magister. Glad to see a Jet Warbird over the Danish sky!

Yes, Tad (The Author) is a great guy. I met him a few years back when I had arranged to meet him and his private DC-3 near his home in Oregon. It’s such a coincidence that he was the chief pilot of the cow operation in Denmark back in the Sixties. I’m from Denmark and I’ve read and listened to stories about this adventure many times over the years… and then suddenly I pop into the guy who was the most involved person in that particular project. It’s a small world.
I can truly recommend the other books as well. They are all well written and gives the reader an instant feeling of what aviation could be like back in “the good ‘ol days”.
Flying Cowboys
I can really recommend reading the book “Flying Cowboys”:

This story is an account of events that led to an historical first in the transportation of whole herds of up to eighty two pregnant dairy cows by airplane from Denmark to countries in the Mid East. An old military surplus cargo plane (C-74) and a crew of seven young men desperate for work were more than happy to take on the challenge no matter that the rumor mill was saying it couldn’t be done. A job was a job, and if the Danes needed to get cows delivered to Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Iran, they were going to do it, come hell or high water. The timing couldn’t have been better, with Denmark’s dire need to find a way to improve their balance of trade crisis and at a time when thousands of American airmen were out of work due the FAA’s crippling rule changes.
If you are thinking about the Convairliner that came from Bolivia, then this is the one.
Yes, sad and (to some) shocking news. Another classic propliner bites the dust!
Hereby a few shots of Brooks’ Fairbanks,AK based N898AT

All photos from April 2004.
This shot gives you an idea how close we were to the active… that second row of airborne Aviojets realy made my ear-drums go bbbbbrrrrrrrrrrrmmmmmm when they passed over our spotter-crowd only some 100ft above us all…

Standing only a few feets away from the active runway gave us all some unique photo-opportunities

Just got back from Murcia, and this was one nice airshow! Thumbs up to the Spanish Air Force for putting such a great event together!!! 😀
Only problem was my camera getting out of focus at times… 😮 😎

I’ve had mine for about 3 years now. Used to have it on a Nikon F70, and since 2004 on a D70. Must say I’ve been quite pleased with it. Shooting at 500mm can be a challenge at times, especialy when hand-held (always in my case). I’d say 5 stars out of 6 possible.
The 190 was at the ILA show??? Or are you talking another display?
Dave
I think he meant the ME262.
I also heard about the 190 and a groundloop…
Several photos from ILA here:

Unfortunately the YAK’s didn’t perform. They were scheduled to, but I guess the strong gusting winds and the low ceiling probably grounded these great Russians.
Correction, the YAKs did apparently perform as I found a different thread showing photos of the YAKs in flight on the Friday. It must have been while it was seriously pouring down and I was sheltering under the nose of a Luftwaffe A310…
Thanks guys for the nice comments. All in all it was a great show, though the weather wasn’t the best and the crowd was realy getting on my nerves at times.

DazDaMan – no, unfortunately they didn’t perform together, but the 262 did its display twice!
Markstringer – no, there was no sign of the 190
LAHARVE – I believe they were three different models, a plain YAK-3, a YAK-3M and a YAK-3U
A few 109 shots from Friday. What an amazing display!

Others of great interest to me, especialy the 262!

Is the P-38 staying with Red Bull in the US or is it going to based in Austria?
Thanks
