Moralizing, schmoralizing….let the Arabs first recognize and guarantee the existence of Israel. Otherwise it is just stupid to ask Israel to give up its nukes.
As for arabs getting their hands on nukes…if they do, then i think their first target will not be israel, but their own people. Trust them to nuke those who dont agree with their dictatorial rule….
Despite US aid/support for egypt, saudi arabia, jordan, kuwait etc their populations have been taught to hate the US by their own governments. And you want to give nukes to THESE guys? Doesnt look too good to me…
European lefties have no excuses for moralizing. It was in YOUR nations that jews were discriminated against for centuries and slaughtered in pogroms and the Holocaust, barely 60 years ago. you have killed in large numbers and enslaved the indigenous peoples of the Americas, Africa and Asia. Most of the world’s present-day boundary disputes are the leftovers from your colonial past. So, STFU.

Their economy is in the cr@pper, thats what i meant…
One more question: EF2000, Rafale, JSF whatever are going to cost $$$$$.
How are the Saudis going to pay for it?
Did you see the last entry.
4 July 2003 : Two Indonesian F-16s intercepted US Navy F-18s maneuvering over Bawean Island in the Java Sea. The F-18s were providing air cover for a task force of an aircraft carrier, two frigates and a tanker traveling in the area. The F-18s maneuvered into position and achieved radar lock-on before the F-16s left the area.
F-16s vs bugs. interesting times indeed π

Does “Al-Yamamah” ring a bell?
I think Adnan Khashoggi, among others made a cool fortune off that British deal, with overinflated prices. I believe it was (maybe still is) the largest single defense deal in history.
I hate to bring politics into this, but the fact is, in the middle-east, politics and the miliatry are interchangeable.
Its not a question of whether the RSAF will fight. its a question of which royal faction they will support. The Sudairi 7 (Sultan etc) or CP Abdullah, and i dont think us outsiders can be sure one way or the other until the sjit actually hits the fan…
I have been to Dhahran once. Long time ago. π
Re: Best aircraft for LOW intensity warfare
As the main ‘Put the fear of God into the hearts of the freaking terrorists’ weapon, my choice would also include an AC-130 if money and operating conditions permit. π

North Korea doesn’t have any planes worth protecting IMHO..It does sound like a good idea. It would be VERY expensive but maybe worth the the time and resources. The base would have to be huge and I mean huge.. It would have to hold and maintain all the aircraft, weapons, fuel, crew, and etc. I wonder how they venilate all the fumes and clean everything up..
Not to mention, the massive amounts of heat generated…
The planes have to actually take-off inside the underground ‘base’ i guess. If the runway extends outside, then its going to get bombed anyway.
Also, what about landing?
if we were talking about harriers or helos then an underground base would make sense, else i think its too far fetched.
Even if they do have underground shelters and/or runways, its not going to help much….i think their aircraft are going to get shot out of the skies as soon as they manage to take off. π

Seems only both of us know the truth. (IPs dont lie π )
Anyway, as long as you promise to behave yourself, i will let it rest for the time being.

Ah, so it has been banned?
Thought you could pull a fast one as ‘Johhny Cotter’, eh? Nice try.:D BTW, have the cops contacted you yet? I will ask for a follow-up in a few days time.:)

Well, I don’t see what the problem is with comparing these two planes. The lca cockpit does look better here but do remember that FC1 cockpit is not as shown. Let us wait a few months and compare the actual fc1 cockpit…
BTW, PLA, has your ‘Johnny Cotter’ alias been banned by the Mods yet? π
Russia is a very resilient nation and has always made it through tough times.
It will be back to its old glory days..it is only a matter of time. π

Nah, i don’t bother anymore. Nourishing an external enemy to keep the local proletarians from revolting is the perfect way to keep a stable country with a happy very few and a docile mob.
The other option is to pump your population full of marijuana and other narcotics, and encourage prostitution and pornography as major industries.
That also has the same effect, doesnt it..keeping your population docile and all that..;)
