RE: WORLDS MOST POWERFUL NATIONS – 2003!!!
Well, here’s my list :
1. The United States of America.
America alone has got a bigger defence spending than the other top-10-countries combined. Though their military capability is often overrated, still, they remain the only military superpower in the world.
2. The people’s Republic of China
With the largest air force and as much as 3 million combat-ready soldiers, it’s undoubtely Asia’s biggest continental superpower.
3. France
This country is often regarded as a European dwarf compared to the US. But France has increased its defence-budget, is the only other country apart from the US with a nuclear powered carrier. It’s also a nuclear power, and with connections all over the world (Arab states), France remains one of the more powerful states
4. India
Definatelly a well-equipped air force, army, navy and ofcourse also has nuclear capabilities.
5. United Kingdom
The glory-days of the British Empire are over, but still Britain has the best trained soldiers in the world. Apart from that, the UK can influence both decissions made in America or in Europe.
6. Germany
Not a big defence-spending, but the 2nd biggest economic superpower. It wouldn’t take much time to boost Germany’s military capabilities, after all, they’ve done it two times already }>.
7. Pakistan
Same reason as for India.
8. Israel
Has got a big brother which looks after them.
9. Saudi-Arabia
Close ties with the west, is the biggest importer of arms in the world.
10. Egypt
Much like Saudi-Arabia, a pro-Western state, with a lot of modern equipment.
11. South-Africa
Africa’s only democracy, the only country which can be held serious. Not of such a military significance, but it sure influences the other countries in (Southern-)-Africa
12. Turkey
Very important ally for NATO, eventhough Europe does not seem to see them as serious.
13. Russian Federation
Yeah, at the end of my list. You can’t deny that the current condition of their conventional forces is crap, the only way they could win a war is through suicide, in other words ICBMs.
14. Spain
Still has close ties with many Latin-American countries.
15. Italy
Well-trained soldiers and peace-makers.

Cookies and more
It seems to work, the addware software. It took some time, but it found already hundreds of files I never knew about. Does it also delete cookies for example? I have restricted cookies only to this site, hotmail and my bank-account.
Is there program where you can avoid those annoying pop-up screens. There’s nothing that irritates me more than seeing porn when visiting aviation sites or even worse … getting adds of aviation-equipment when visiting porn :D.

If I would get a nickle for each time I have to correct Phantom, I would be a billionaire by now.
The terrorism in Europe is something totally different than 9/11. The terrorists are Europeans (Spain, N-Ireland, Greece) and it has little to do with the foreign policy of the states, but just because they want to become independent. This kinds of things will always happen, but do you find it normal that people who live 10000 kms away from your place still hate you? But you’re right, it’s not the Bush-administration only, Bush can’t be blamed for everything. Clinton was a lot more intelligent, his speeches were inspiring, his words … well if you look at it, Clinton was also a SOB :D. Still, I think he would have handled with the 9-11 aftermath totally different.
Phantom wake up. Primer’s post are not as half as sickened as what you said in the past “I want to kill terrorists myself”. You, an 18-year old schoolboy … I am one myself, but I never said I wanted to kill someone. Just make sure you don’t end up like Tim. McVeigh; he was also a patriot, he also served his country. Untill 9/11 he was the biggest terrorist in the world.
About the nukes, I think it was Rumsfeld who said something “we don’t exclude it”. Ofcourse, this was BS, you’re not throwing nukes for just one attack.
Anyway, Phantom, I don’t have repeat everything Brad said do I? His right, actually. Brad also loves his country, but that doesn’t mean he loses his criticism. Even Vortex seems to be rather neutral.

RE: Downloading : how dangerous is it?
I’ve got 256 MB ram, so that should do it I reckon. I do have that little GATOR-program installed. Will uninstall it ASAP, but the Ad-awar seems to work, have already deleted about 100 files, including cookies.
As I told you, my disk is already defragmented. I’ll have to reboot my system anyway, as I have bought a new processor.
Anyway, thanks for the information, man. You should open a hotline and ask 5 Euro’s a call, like the others.

RE: Downloading : how dangerous is it?
Well, I’m going to install the software JJ. I really hope it helps, because I don’t know why they put those hidden files on your HD, but it sucks. I also changed my cookie-filter from medium to the highest.
Vortex, possible yes, our computers are connected with 2 Ethernet HUBs which also slows down a lot, but the other PCs don’t seem to have a problem with it. Besides that, my 30 GG are split into a 1O GB C-drive and a 20 GB D-drive. My current computer is a P-III 750, the other two are new P-IV-1800 or something (don’t have an idea, my brother is the IT). Maybe that helps, but I don’t have enough money to beef up the computer so I’ll just sticks with JJs plan.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 01-09-02 AT 07:35 PM (GMT)]@ Brad,
My downloading speed, well it supposed to be like one 750 KB a second or so, but with KaZaa it’s sometimes a lot slower. That ofcourse also depends on the connection of the user from whom you are downloading. I don’t think home computers are really made for downloading.
@ Frank,
Will do what you told me. Also, the game sites you said work perfectly, but I better buy the games in the shop I guess. I already defragmented my disk in a C: “data”- drive and a D: “games + downloads” drive.
Here’s the information from the C: (10 GB)
5116670 KB total disk space.
3020160 KB in 23689 files.
9968 KB in 1010 indexes.
0 KB in bad sectors.
56914 KB in use by the system.
27632 KB occupied by the log file.
2029628 KB available on disk.
4096 bytes in each allocation unit.
1279167 total allocation units on disk.
507407 allocation units available on disk.
Here’s the information from the D: (20 GB)
24908750 KB total disk space.
3567212 KB in 9143 files.
2556 KB in 727 indexes.
0 KB in bad sectors.
76814 KB in use by the system.
65536 KB occupied by the log file.
21262168 KB available on disk.
4096 bytes in each allocation unit.
6227187 total allocation units on disk.
5315542 allocation units available on disk.
Hope that helps a bit, these digits are like Chinese to me. Anyway, I don’t know if defragmenting your HD really helps.
@ Primer,
You mean “Comer, beber, foder”? Learned them from my cousin when he went to Portugal. But you Brazilians have ofcourse, a very similar reputation }>. Latino’s :7.
