    RE: Morocco invades Spain

He man, these aren’t just goats, they are Spanish goats and therefor should be protected by all means possible, that includes sending warships. I doubt these goats will be happier in Morocco, on the other hand, there aren’t so many thight European regulations there. maybe we should organise a referendum and let the goats decide. Isn’t that what democracy is all about?

    RE: slightly side tracked…kev

“I was shocked to learn on this forum that it’s true that in most European countries, you can’t talk about anything against the holocaust.”

Indeed, this is true. However, do not interpreted this as some kind of black choppers circling around your house in wisper mode listening if you’re not telling something against the holocaust. Most European countries have extreme right parties, which will try to attract people by spreading pamflets around. These parties know how to deal with these (mostly frustrated) people, so they just tell them what they want to hear. This has nothing to do with holocaust anymore, but with politics. I don’t think the holocaust (wheter you believe it or not) maye be used in any political discussion, especially not by some extreme right neo-nazist parties like FN/Le Pen, Haider, Danish People’s Party, Vlaams Blok etc …). This is the principal reason for making it illegal.

    RE: Morocco invades Spain

The US will support Spain all the way. I think Aznar is one of the few European leaders Bush does like, and Spain will be using its best PR’s to let this war look, not only as a territorial war, but also a war against terrorism. Brussels has already backed Madrid’s position, still waiting what Washington will do. A war with European allies would be possible, and Europe would probably win this war, but it would be a lot easier with the US. Maybe this would be a good chance for thinking about a EUROCORPS.

But, this war is not enevitable, and if it can be avoided, than better do so. Spain is a very important country for the west (especially for Europe), because it holds the key for Latin America.

If there would be a war, how would it look like? First days of striking C-3 targets, important factories? Afterwarts a naval assault or Special Forces? Any ideas?

    RE: Morocco invades Spain

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 17-07-02 AT 08:24 PM (GMT)]For the first time the news actually made the headlines here. Morocco said the military intervention was illegal and therefor an act of war. I hope this does not become a war, but it would be the first European territorial war in 50 years (within Europe ofcourse). Anyway, I’m with Spain.

    About PII

Vortex, Phantom may be impulsive. It does not end there. There are two possibilities.

    1. He really hates Arabs, he’s got no respect for them (like he has said in a discussion a while ago). I’m not going to search for the thread where he said he didn’t respect the Palestinians because they lived in dumps, but I hope he has the honesty to admit having said that. Ofcourse, he has appologised afterwarts, begging the people to give him another chance.

    2. He IS stupid. Making the same faults over and over again, can only mean you are so sure about yourself or you are too damn stupid to understand.

I think Phantom is somewhere in between.

    Some examples?

The reason that idiots like you and everyone in the stupid EU (what a freaking joke) as well as liberals around the world criticize Israel is because Israel has the larger military.

I feel they should ignore outside opinion, especially that of the EU, and do what is necessary

Nothing about Europe is unified except for their memberships to NATO.

The biggest overall problem in Europe is the fact that LIBERALS, such as yourself Geforce, are everywhere.

support Israel whole-heartedly because it is the Israeli civilians that are dying from attack aimed at them. If an Palestinian civilian dies it is because they are either a militant or were just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Casualties happen in war. (post 51)

Geforce, I’ve lost all respect for you (51)

Regarding my dislike of Palestinians, I don’t think my views on them can ever be changed. I simply have no respect for them. Bash me or make rude remarks about me, but I just cannot force myself to like them.
    (post 78)

Pakistani, I never said I was in some competition about liking Pakistani’s or not. It is rather immature of you to say that. Just in my experience, I’ve never had a good reason to like Pakistanis or Palestinians or many of the people in that area of the world. Shallow my views may be, but I cannot help that. As far as visiting those countries, the only place I’d ever hope to see them is under my wing someday. I don’t plan to make a visit to the Middle East because of the hatred of the West that perseveres in that region. (post 87)

Now you call my latest remark immature because i called you stupid. This thread dates from some weeks ago, the Israeli-Palestine thread. Please, let us not go in detail again, but this was in reply of some of my posts.
I just think we had to clear this up.

    RE: Big question..

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 17-07-02 AT 10:51 AM (GMT)]Well, first of all there’s the C-14 method.

In an organic system, apart from ‘stable’ Carbon (C-12), there’s also C-14, Carbon which is radioactif, the the ageing process of C-14 is always slowed down by a couple of thousands years (if not a million years). So by comparing the amount of C-14 to normal C-12 (which will age normally), a scientist can find out how old a fossil is (the more C-14 there is, the older the fossil is). BTW, Carbon is found in any organic system, thus in every creature.

Carbon is a very stable atom (look at illustration). Not too many electrons can be added to the atom (or ion if it carries more neutrons/protons than electrons). Electrons are always located at the outerlayers of an atom. Water (H) is very unstable for example, because more electrons can be added. Carbon (atomnumber 6 or at the 6th row of the Mendeljev table) is the best choise to determine the age of a creature, not only because it exceeds the quantity of any other atom in a creature, but because of its stability.

One can also try to determine the age of a fossil by investigating the geographical layers in the earth. For Example if you find a fossil at 70 feet deep, it should be easy to find out how old that layer is and when you know that, the rest is easy. This is however, not as accurate as the C-14 method.

Before darwinism, there was the theory of creationism, “god created man”. This was mainly during the classic era (Greece and Rome). During the Middle Ages, there was the “generatio spontanea”. A new species could be formed without the need of another species. This was however wrong, and Darwin discovered that a new species can only erupt thanks to mutation (germinal or reproductive mutation) from another species.

Hope that helps a bit! Sorry for my bad English, but scientific language is really difficult if English is not your mother tongue.
