RE: Cuisine ?
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 13-04-02 AT 09:20 PM (GMT)]Indian food is really nice, but it hurts going to the toilet afterwarts.
My favourites :
A nice pasta with salmon and a creamy sauce
Trout with cooked patatoes, plus a nice greek salad
Mussels are also nice, but you should also try snails : yummie,
Tomates- aux-crevetes (tomatoes stuffed with shrimps and mayonaise).
Worst food : anything served on an airline.
RE: letter to the troops….
Oh man, elp, now you just crossed the line. :+
RE: Israel vs Palestine
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 13-04-02 AT 09:02 PM (GMT)]”I must have said this like a trillion times now, but the Palestinians could have had a Palestinian state, had they accepted the Camp David proposals.”
Indeed, you must have said that a couple of times, but Camp David II was not a good proposal, because all of the borders would have been controlled by IDF-soldiers only. A new proposal was on its way (forgot that name, sorry), but then Sharon became prime minister and refused to go on with the peace talks, mainly because the Bush administration didn’t show any interests in it (at least not comparable to Clinton). Maybe they should have signed it, but would that prevent all of this?
“Now I ask you: how would you feel if you would have to live in constant fear, not being able to go to a supermarket, becuase you could be blown up, not being able to go to see a movie, because you met be blown into pieces.”
I can’t imagine how I would feel; terrified. Ofcourse I would want my government to take actions, do something. But if it doesn’t help ME and my SOCIETY, why should I still support it? People who still move to settlements these days are just dumb and I have no pity with them: they know what they are up to. The people who still live there should leave these settlements in a peacefull way, which should be possible. After all, this war is not about oil, money, just about some ##### little places in a desert!
“That’s what the outside world thinks of this.”
Isn’t that important? Don’t you see those daily marches every day in the streets of Paris, Berlin, Rome, Brussels, Jordan? These people want their government to take actions against Israel. Is a carbomb so much worse than a tank driving over civilian buildings, killing innocent people?
I’m sorry for using the word holocaust : it should have been genocide.
“If Solana loves him so much, and if the EU is so content with Arafat, why don’t they give him a state right here in Europe. After all, Europe is big enough, isn’t it?”
Solana doesn’t love him, he just wants to have dialogues with him, just as Powel and Anan.
Anyway, I’m not going to reply to all of your posts. As much as I respect everyones opinion here, I still stick to my ideas. I also argree that I probably know ##### about the whole situation. But so do you PhantomII. I was merely expressing my feelings, and I’m not the only one (maybe on this board), but just look at those millions of people protesting against Sharon’s actions. What else can he do? RESIGN, let a new government be formed.
WHY DOESN’T ANYONE ANSWER THIS SIMPLE QUESTION : has is become safer for the Israeli’s to go on the street now? You can maybe take out the terrororist organisations, but not the hatred among people.
OK, enough for today. I’ll just stick with that one posts. Everybody will stand for what he believes in. Only time can tell who will be right.
RE: ill
eat as much airline food as possible 🙂
RE: My experience with Air France.
You’re right, Saab, although their English is quite decent. My cousin, who doesn’t know how to speak a word French was threated a lot worse because he only spoke English.
But airline food is always disgusting: normally I buy a sandwich and eat that one on board, but this time I forgot. I spend more time on the toilet than on my seat, especially when the toilet is more comfortable (exept in turbulence :x)
RE: Israel vs Palestine
you still call this terrorism? This is no terrorism anymore, JJ, this is a whole state fighting for independence, to get back what belongs to them, to get the same civil rights. To stop with the … apartheid. It is Sharon who supported settlement in the west-Bank 20 years ago. Thanks to his decissions, thousands of Palestian and Israeli’s are dying. How would you feel if you are the father of a Israeli buy, merely 18 years, now called in service and you know there’s a big chance that you might never see him again. 98 % of the Israeli’s are victim of some assholes like Sharon who don’t want to negotiate at all. Don’t you guys read Economist? USA-Today? It’s full of it. In the latest issue of US-today it stated : Sharon is making the same mistakes again as 20 years ago in Lebanon, because he doesn’t want to listen to the US. Sharon is abusing the US, and the free world, because any civilised state can’t accept what this man is doing right now.
Ooh and the Gaschambers? Why always refer to the Nazi’s? Do you think they are the only ones who commited warcrimes? I’m sure you know better. Holocaust is more than what has happened with the jews in wwII, it’s a universal word.
Sharon is a dangerous man! I predict that Israel and PA will have a very bloody future … if you still want to use the term future.
Arafat is too weak, but as Powel said: he’s the only one who we can negotiate with. Sharon ofcourse doesn’t give a damn about what Collin, Annan or Solana says. The only thing that matters is his colonial war (better than holocaust).
RE: Israel vs Palestine
Well, I don’t know about the latest events anymore. I only know Sharon is making a mess out of it. The world would be a better place without Sharon!
We should threat Israel just in the same way as we’ve done with South Africa during Apartheid. What Israel now is doing, is 100 % apartheid, 100 % holocaust. We should put so much pressure on Israel, there’s no other way for them than to leave in peace. Sharon is a bad leader, who puts the lifes of his own people in danger, including soldiers. One person is to be held responsable, only one.
RE: Bear of the week?

RE: NO
Oh yeah, that explains a lot. Maybe they should update their press releases a bit.
RE: NO
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 24-03-02 AT 10:21 AM (GMT)]The SC looks like a science fiction airliner, well it isn’t. It’s not that fast, the only advantge it has over other airliners it can reach heights up to 40000 meters, so it doesn’t have to think about the other air traffic (which is at 30000-33000 feet).
I don’t know where you got that info, Glenn, but they must have mixed it up with the space shuttle, because one hour between Heathrow and JFK, what are we waiting for? 15 % faster is not much, this saves you one and a half hour on a flight from Paris to Kangarou-country (Sydney). 23 hours instead of 24, both are a torture anyway, only I’m not willing to pay more for that one hour you save. I thought the sonic cruiser was supposed to be a totally new airliner, fast, cheap … I think the Boeing team spend more time on the artists impressions of the SC than on the drawing boards and blue prints.
NO
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 23-03-02 AT 07:23 AM (GMT)]The Sonic Cruisers is only about 15% faster than the airliners of today. That’s not such an improvement. If it is an improvement at all, because we’ll have to pay more, and the SC will use more fuel. The plane looks great, but I’m not willing to pay 50 % more.
The future is for the A-380, I’m sure of it. 820 passengers, relativelly cheap. That’s what we all want. Boeing should have continued on the developpement of the B-747X. 2008 will be the year Airbus finally catches up with Boeing … and beats it.
RE: Sabena – Documentary
When I see that documentary, I always become emotional. You know, SN Brussels Airlines, it’s not the same. Our prestige is gone. I miss those wonderful birds, those A-340’s. You just know they are never gonna come back, there’s simply no money for it :'(
I want back the old Sabena!!!
