Com’on these shows are pure entertainment. I can understand why people don’t like it, but saying it’s a disgrace, that’s a bit too far, isn’t it?
I had some laughs, especially with the first episodes. But the final candidates were all good singers.

Both Barcelona and Girona are worth the visit! If you are in the region of Girona, try to visit the Dali museums. (Figueras?!) I even think there are three of them. Though it’s already more than six years ago, that was about the only thing I can still remember from it. ANYTHING to keep you away from the costa brava where thousands of dutchmen and belgians are thundering with their caravans each year to sit on some dirty beach together with 1 million of your countrymen.
I’ve been to Barcelona twice, but I can’t seem to remember anything from it, except from the fact that it was the one and only Sabena-flight I ever took. :p

Talking about Dali and surrealism, here’s our belgian pride …
I don’t know who owns this Margritte-painting now, but after Sabena’s demise it was sold.

Someone explain to me why, if most ‘Americans’ came over from the UK, Ireland, Wales and such, where the heck did our accents go? Would’nt colonies of folks from the UK still have their accents upon reaching these shores and still talk like they were ‘back home’ in the UK? I want to know why they faded out and now Americans of English descent have no accent…and Americans have even gone on to have their own distinct accents depending on what part of the country they’re ‘from’.I curious thing, I think…we should all still be speaking with a UK accent, unless you’re from somewhere else.

Hey, not all American settlers were British, many of them were Dutch, German, French … It’s only after the 7-years war (1763) the British began to dominate the continent. And AFAIK the US does not have any official languages at all (not even English). Even a non-native English speaker as myself can hear the difference between someone from Maryland or Texas so there’s definitelly an accent. I don’t know what you mean with a “UK-accent”, but it’s easier for me to understand an American than a Scot. There’s no such thing as a UK-accent, unless you mean the Hugh Grant kinda accent. :p

What’s exactly changing? In Belgium we also change to the Bachelar-master-system. Is it something similar?! Anyway, it’s better to change it to international standards, because for a Belgian student finding a job in France or the US will be a lot easier.

Long time we’ve heard that
Funny I was just reading an article on Noam Chomsky, and yes, he is a commie-*******. But Sauron, I hope you are intelligent enough to realise that not all criticism on the US comes from the leftists/socialists. There’s really more outside the US than commie-world.
