Another Gripen + Spice

Call me biased, but I’m a big fan of the Dolphin/Panther line.

Chinese Z-9C :
Makes perfect sense. If you’re going to invest in a serious air force, and the UAE is obviously doing that with 80 F-16E/Fs, then such assets are the next logical step … If not an absolute necessity.

Overall best F-16 user-US Military. Combat record
That depends on what combat record stands for. IDF/AF F-16s have 40 kills to their name. Correct me if I’m wrong, but this constitutes the majority of worldwide F-16 kills. The USAF has yet to reach this number.

Best use of the F-16 in a terrorist role-Israel, “we think there might be a terrorist in the building, so lets bomb it”
Cute, but baseless assumptions aside, in actuality the IDF rarely uses jets in its operations. The number of incidents in which F-16s actually bombed Palestinian targets is roughly a dozen, with the casualties at about three or four times that. I fear the seniority in this category really belongs elsewhere …

#12 – name at least three jetfighters designed by German expatriates after WW2 Hal Marut by Tank in India, FMA Pulqui 2 by Tank in Argentina, Hispano Saetta by Messerschmit in Spain (not really a fighter, but a trainer)

Well, if the Hispano Saetta is not good enough, the Egyptian Helwan HA-300, another Messerschmit design, certainly certifies as a fighter.

a. Kfir C.2= Mig 21’s and Mirage V’s depending on the conflict
Kfirs never faced Mirage Vs. The IDF/AF encountered Mirages during the 1973 war, but the Kfir entered service in 1975. You’ve got Nesher/Mirage Vs Mirage encounters, but not Kfirs.

That’s my opinion too. In addition to that it’s cold , wet and expensive 😀
You don’t know what you’re missing, take it from someone who lives in a warmer climate. I’d love to live a while in France, close to the resorts. I’ve been to Alpe d’Huez twice and Val Thorens once, and enjoyed every second of it. Both resorts are excellent.
I don’t ski though, I snowboard 😀

Ours has the occasional tendency to explode. It’s an adventure everytime you walk out the front door.

And if he wasn’t Israeli what would be his best course of action.
There is a substantial amount of information available out there, not nearly as much as the book covers, but a whole lot nonetheless. First and foremost there is the IDF/AF’s official website at http://www.iaf.org.il . Its English version is currently offline (it’s been redesigned recently, they’re just testing the Hebrew version now) , but it’s very extensive. The people at ACIG occasionaly dwell on the subject, as well as other forums dedicated to the IDF and IDF/AF. Trying us Israelis over at AFM is not such a bad idea either …
The above is somewhat outdated. I should know, I wrote it. A whole lot more information has come to light in recent years. Since Kyle is Israeli, his best course of action would be to lay his hands on a copy of a “Like A Bolt Out of the Blue”, a 400 page book by Dani Shalom dedicated entirely to operation Moked.

Ahhh, I see! 😉Was Israel mentioned for Spitfires?
Snapper mentioned Israel for Spitfires and Mustangs. One Spitfire is airworthy, it underwent repairs a few months ago and had been spotted flying.
Other interesting local survivors include an Avia s.199 (Czech Bf.109) and a Dragon Rapide.
Funny, I’m watching “Jaws, the revenge” (4) right now, and 3 was on just an hour ago – there’s a Spielberg marathon on TV. The first one was excellent, but the rest are just a waste of time.
“Pet Cemetery”, now there’s one disturbing movie …
