Kevin, the AVP will move at some point but it could be from 5 years to 10 years no one will commit to a timescale.
Ah sorry, the damage is on the outer flap, this was caused by us lifting the wing.Back in 1990 BA decided to shorten the outer wings by 15ft each side to save space ie popping the Trident in tight spaces (saving ramp space) so there are no aerilons anymore!! the problem is that the moulded wingtips are connected to the outer flap making it very difficult and time consuming to remove them,we opted to leave them on and doing so damaging them.I will be doing a cosmetic repair to both outer flaps.
Has there been damage done to the elevator on the first photo?
The rudder was damaged in 1987 due to high winds, the rudder was not locked at the time.
A huge thanx to you all on your kind comments, and Steve for all of his backing (in more ways than one!!) i have indeed been a busy body ,but as this is the only Trident Three that the public etc will be able to board, attention to detail is the key,by the way DDVideo will be releasing a DVD documentary on the Trident in March and the rebuild will happen realy soon .A formal announcement will be made soon along with details of the opening for genral viewing.
best wishes for the new year to all.

Cheers, point taken and i do tend to agree:-)
Sorry if im taken the wrong way but arn’t we missing the point here Reverse thrust in flight was and is perfectly safe not a single Trident or Concorde was lost in this way it was rather unfortunate that a Lauda Air 767 was lost due to a mechanical faulire on one of its engines.IMHO it’s not a problem and i have flown on a Concorde and Trident and am still here.Sorry if this may offend but it’s reality.
PS bear in mind the Trident and Concorde were certified to use Reverse thrust in flight and the 767 was not,it was a sad case of Mechanical failure.
Trident 1E’s were certified to use reverse thrust in flight and loose 10,000ft per minute,Concorde used idle reverse from the supersonic cruise.Hope this info helps.
