The information on shares etc makes interesting reading i dont know if anyone else has noticed.
Eight shares allocated 30 days utilisation per year and 60 days set aside for maintenance etc. Now then 8 shares times by 30 equals 240 plus 60 days maintenance makes a total of 300 days. So who gets the other 65 days of
usage ???. Or is there in fact 9 shares I wonder ??.
Now then as ownership I may be corrected here but did not a certain person who has a major interest in the Atlantique conglomeration also have a major interest in Enstone ?? . I think its just another offshoot of an offshoot.
Good luck to them however they do it if they get her up in the air again I spent a good few hours freezing my nuts off on the ramp at Coventry working on her and many others in the fleet. I also remember her coming back in from Germany on regular runs she did nightly

Confused construction numbers
Can anyone help with the confused construction serial numbers of vampires ?.
For example our aircraft XG 743 T22 Sea Vampire. All the books etc state her construction number is 15634.
BUT
The aircrafts own construction plate mounted on the front platform state the following;
D.H.Vampire DHP 45330
her wings are s/n 389 and s/n 390
so we are somewhat confused, have looked in lots of books and construction lists etc and nothing comes close to this c/n number any inspiration would be appreciated ??.

You can count us guys in from Aircraft Restoration group.
How about putting something interesting on ???.
I have some video footage somewhere of the Malta Hurricane Z3055 being found under water and some other stuff if I get chance to dig it out if you think it might be worth having something like that on.Or even someone to do a talk of some description ??.Perhaps the guys from Newcastle aviation academy could do something or perhaps we could get someone from Brunty to talk about the ground running aircraft ??.
Also anyone from North Yorkshire or adjacent area need a lift from a central point ???
I will sponsor some refreshments

No one thought that in 1991 we would find two spitfires, three Hastings,a sea hawk,a Canberra a stuka and lots of other bits in a scrap yard in Malta. We also pulled a very good condition SeaFire (MB293) from the sea. Then in 1997 we pulled a Hurricane Z3055 from 42 metres of SALT WATER its now standing ground run able.
There are lots of things currently as good waiting to be lifted so you doubting thomas’s need to pull your necks in and be prepared to eat your hats.Fine a lot of Bovine excreta out there on some alleged wrecks but there is still the real thing out there but patience is needed not criticism.

Has not one of the aircraft been shot down today ??
Cant be Bernard Mathews he is no longer with us :diablo::diablo::diablo:
No. I think he is trying to say that the missing card indicates the aircraft in question was crated and buried (along with 159 others) in Turkey.
Ha now I see how the number of spitfires buried in Burma has gone from some 20 to nearly 200 they where all shipped over there and buried !!!!!!.
Mike E
:D:D:D:D
The question is, what is it really worth as it is?
£250k?
Probably getting on for twice that depending on what is still missing and to do and what documentation is complete with it and ready/signed off.
About 10 years ago at Biggin Hill Airshow a Venom (as part of a 3 ship with the Vixen) landed wheels up. Does anyone know what happened to the aircraft as I haven’t seen it since?
Was that not the DH Vampire the ex vintage pair spare aircraft that the crew where sadly killed as the engine cut at low level Or where there two such incidents at Biggin ???. I also thought it was a bit further back than that ??

Extremely nice Hawker P.1127 project
Rob
Did my 6 numbers but they have not come up yet,be interesting to see what the expectation of the price is on this one as it is a very key piece of history as regards the development of the harrier and should by rights be in a museum or national collection.I dont suppose the owner would think about donating it or putting it on permanent loan to such a collection. It is far more important than the run of the mill Harriers on display in museums currently,I think there is only one other Kestrel on display anywhere.

gold plated plug
This item is real but the asking price is certainly not. Some people seem to think the Words Spitfire and original seem to be a license to print money !!!!!

Spitfire – Block Terminal for Starting Leads, 30036 Sht 92 or 26AJ/26192
These very brave men did not only have to fight the enemy they had to fight their own country. As you are all aware they faced nothing but prejudice from their own military leaders and even with their fantastic record during WW2 they still had to fight until the late 1960’s for their right to freedom.
Their war lasted more like thirty years than four an example to all in my book !!!
great respect to them all may they never be forgotten.
As a matter of curiosity many Americans volunteered and fought for Britain during the start of the second world war before their country joined in.Did any Black American pilots volunteer to fight in the RAF ???.
