Lovely weather for an ex Navy Aircraft !!!!.
Did they do a float plane version of a Sea Vampire I wonder ??
Would be different not many Jet powered sea Planes seem to have been designed but the best for me was the little Saro seaplane fighter.

XG743
As had been leaked and suspected by a few on this forum yes we did tender successfully for XG743 and Yes it is now in North Yorkshire.
Can I ask does anyone have any information or photographs or colour schemes for the lady in RN service .
We have most of her history we think (see our web site) but we would like to know some of the detail especially when she was the chase aircraft for the Buccaneer S2 development aircraft and did she wear any special paint for this occasion as she was on strength of the RAE. ( the Javelin chase aircraft for the Victor K2 development aircraft wore a raspberry ripple scheme).

Departure of Sea Vampire T.22/XG743/597 from Hangar 3 at a rather soggy Duxford.
Brian
Yes we can now officialy confirm after a very hectic weekend of aircraft moving and Vampires going here there and everywhere that XG743 is now safely home with us here in North Yorkshire. The team from ARG had an early start at DX and the aircraft was safely loaded onto our transport and off up the A1.
Many Thanks Wyvernfan for your assistance in this process.

WW2 RAF SPITFIRE COCKPIT REPLICA/SIMULATOR SCALE1:1
Surprised to see this on ebay as though it was the pride and joy of a local group – certainly beyond my means at present, but looks like an awful lot of work went in to it, so probably realistic?
Its one of the John Poiser projects originally. We had the rear fuselage and nose of this until fairly recently (now on its way to Canada)We did offer the bits we had to them in the past to create a full fuselage but they were’nt interested.
The fuselage is wood and metal composite but is has a lot of original kit in it but its a mix of early and late for example it has a late windscreen and early canopy etc.And the instrumentation is a mix but it does look nice if perhaps a tad overpriced. But at least the price is coming down to nearer where it needs to be as earlier this year they where asking for offers in excess of £20k definitely very overpriced then.
Lets hope it finds a good home and not just for someone to buy to break for bits.

It seems Monday might well be worth a visit:D:D:D

Unless anyone has already mentioned it I think the museum in malta has a few turrets and parts. Its worth a try as they have an awfull lot of varied books and drawings they might even have some info /drawings/manuals as being located where they are they attract an awfull lot of donations and stuff from Europe and further afield that we would not normaly get in the UK.
And the collection at Elvington as has been mentioned is a heck of a display and I think currently you would be stuck to find a more comprehensive one under one roof.Although there are i believe a few private collectors with some nice turrets .
