    P38 on south wales beach

So, after this lastest outing to collect obscure, vague and inconclusive trinkets that might possibly once have something to do with Earhart does this mean TIGHAR will actually be doing something about recovering that P-38 submerged in a north Wales beach?

A vast number of us know where this is in Wales and if these silly B******** would stop messing about it would have been raised a long time ago.But as has been said no profit for them and they can still claim its a pending project to keep their luxury cars and big holidays funded.

    Hi Guys

If I may put my input in as the project leader and also the person behind the web site.

Some of the points raised so far have some merit and will be considered but there has also been some comments about not being able to access stuff and people being dissapointed that we are not sharing material.

Can I just clarify a major point please.

We have built up over time a good working relationship with Augusta Westland and this involves a certain amount of trust on their part. Not many companies will give you unlimited access to their archives we have earned this trust and on certain proviso’s.

    1) What ever we build does not fly.

    2) we do not share, publish or distribute for gain or otherwise material obtained from AW for the project without their express permission.

The latter is the main one the jargon basically means that they do not want us putting stuff on the web site tomorrow and the next day its on a dvd and for sale on ebay from some one only interested in making a fast buck and not interested in the least in the project.

Thanks guys for your continued interest when a project such as this gets started their is an awful lot of information to be collected, collated and researched before it makes startling progress.Members of the site get access to special offers and discounts on whirlwind related items and also where possible we direct serious researchers to material we can share and to AW for their permission for material we do not have permission to share. Also to point out nearly 50% of the material we have so far has not come from AW but from other national collections and archives again with copyright and none disclosure agreements.

There are a number of excellent detailed books on the Whirlwind for modellers and very shortly a new release book will be hitting the market based on 10 years of research on the type.

    Beech C45

We have tried off and on for two months plus to get a response re the Beech and to make offers but no one seems interested at the other end as they do not respond. So I would not hold your breath for anything ending up as other then tin cans.
This aircraft was once well known on the show circuit as Southern Comfort and used to be maintained at any expense by the owner based in Hollywell.Very sad if this old lady follows the catalina we would deifnately find a home for her but no one will speak to anyone.Perhaps they cant be bothered and just going through the motions.

    water issues

I think if you have paid good money for land drainage etc and a revamp of the roadway I would get the beggars back and ask for a refund it was like a swamp and I think it definitely deterred folks coming down our end and over to hangar 2 as there was a river in the way at one stage then it became a muddy swamp.

obviously not a good situation. As there is not much happening in August this year we could always do a rerun in nice weather !!!!! (joke).

Its not a critisism but felt we where a bit out of the way .I know it was our first time and the Kraguj is not exactly small and with our display stand it made us a bit of a mix between cockpit display and aerojumble.

perhaps if we had been more onto the end towards the aerojumble we may have been slightly better.I know the weather was really crap but i think we saw a total of twelve people on Saturday. A great even and we certainly will be bringing something next year. Some very worthy winners of the trophies an injustice if the Phantom cockpit and the P51 hadn’t won very well done.

Perhaps an idea has thought been given to perhaps moving the three aircraft from the end of hangar two to the side and then that would give more room for the cockpits to be displayed and also give the aerojumble access direct with the cockpits and still preserve a big part of the over flow car park ?. It seems for the event that a large area behind hangar two was dead when it could easily have been utilised the only things in it appeared to be a couple of glider trailers and a pair of wings?.

    Great event.

just popped my head around the key board to say we are still at it getting ready for morning. And polishing the new trophy for you lot.I wont give away anymore as Howard will let you all in on the criteria for it safe to say its nice ,its shiny, and its very appropriate for the category its going to represent,I shall say no more except it is also accompanied by some wonga for the lucky recipient.

See you guys all tomorrow I am going to try and text into the Chris Evans show in the morning I think if a load of us do it then he has to give us a mention.Come on if he gets bombarded with at least 32 cockpit owners sending a message for a safe journey plus goodness knows how many supporters he dare not give us a miss ???.

As for that man who claims to know about cars who has a lightning in his garden I am sorry but he is an ignorant Git !!!!!! and like a certain person who hosts a dealing programme you wont get the time of day unless he is getting a megga something out of it. That is from experience with both of the individuals mentioned including being a Blobby guard at Great Warbirds !!!! but that is a different story I may relate if lubricated enough over the weekend.

To one and all have a safe journey and if you are out on the road look for a evil little beast on a trailer heading south on the A1 between 9.30 am and 12 noon ish between Ripon and Newark give us a hoot !!!!.(no its not the wife !!!!)

Watch out for FOD and keep your intakes clean !!!!!!

    web site infection.

Hi Bruce of the 147 pages you have 9 are listed as very dangerous and you have at least two trojans and two other very nasty malware programmes that will try and upload if you go onto the site.A lots of other little annoying malware files. Some really nasty toerag has done a proper number on your web site .These nasty people should be made to eat their computer and key board and their modem shoul dbe placed where the sun dont shine !!!

I think you need to get a full antivirus and malware sweep of your site to clear it.This info was up to date and current as at a 11 am check 13/06/2012.

A very usefull resource I hope you can get it sorted ok,.
