Major trauma can anyone help please

All sorted for cockpit fest etc and who was coming down with me then we have had major trauma and disaster.

My Eldest shut his bedroom door hard in his flat and the glass panel above fell out .He put his hands up to protect himself !!!!!. I will leave you to imagine the rest safe to say we are very grateful to the 14 hours at James Cook hospital with micro surgery etc saving his right hand and re attaching his thumb.

Problem now to be blunt is we are slightly stuffed as now short handed to get our stuff to Newark get it set up on Friday and taken down on Sunday.

Anyone available going down who wants a lift in exchange for help or any spare bods on site who could possibly help as it looks like I will be stuck single handed instead of being three of us.And with no help makes it very difficult to get sorted and set up at the event.(Kevin’s Partner was also probably coming down).

From North Yorkshire planning to arrive around lunchtime Friday .TwinOtter is it possible to overrun either side of the event for trailers etc ?ie access Thursday or Monday ??.

Would appreciate any prompt replies to my personal mail box or a pm.

    Many Thanks

Not in one go! Two trips yes ! However you need to get the Chinook to the P-40 !

Dobbins -why would it discredit the pilot to restore it? I don’t think every pilot has in the front of their mind that if they ever damage an aircraft they would wish it to remain in that condition as a memorial to them ! The P-40 was doing a job out in the desert -to restore it isnt drastic -its just repairing it to the condition prior to hitting the sand.

As for the RAFM -they have the Hampden to finish and the Dornier depending on what comes out of the sand ! I think people are maybe expecting too much of the nationals when it seems our country cannot even manage to recover a P-38 on a beach in North Wales!

On th elast point I offered to go out and help recover the P38 and give it space but no one on this forum was interested or so it seems.

    Cheetah engine and prop

If anyone needs a potentially ground running cheetah with prop in its crate then a contact of mine has one for sale.

Contact Graham 00-44-(0)161-476-3930 its not the cheapest of engines but it is a very good one and complete with virtually everything including a prop.

    Hope it helps someone.

It doesn’t look ‘right’ for Spit I or V to me. And I don’t think its Battle, comparing it to the one in the corner of my office.

Could it be Whirlwind, perchance? Just a thought.

Thats what I was thinking Andy we have been chasing reports of a museum with trawled up prop etc.

    Whirlwind Fighter

I wonder we have been chasing for ages reports of some items trawled up from the crash site of a Westland Whirlwind fighter but could not track down who, what and where.

The photo looks vaguely like a Whirlwind Fighter Prop. Any more info would be greatly appreciated as I am sure some of our guys will be chomping at the bit if it does happen to be Whirlwind mk1.
