Can we do a pair of Perigrines please !!!!!!
I think it’s already done what it can for other Vulcans. Both XH558 and XM655 have had various parts from it to help keep them running.
I always thought it would inevitably be scrapped with perhaps the cockpit being saved, but we’ll see I guess.
Keep your eyes peeled as I dont think your comments are far from the mark if what I have been told by the Avro Heritage guys works out.She will at least benifit at least four other aircraft and that is probably the best and fairest thing at the end of the day benifit others rather than the scrap mans torch.

i remember watching a program 3 or 4 years ago where they built the glider as close to the design as poss “and flew it”. i think it was covered in blue/white checkered tablecloth cloth.
Didnt it feature on one of the special Negus /Martin documenbtaries on the history channel about 2 years ago. They built it faithfully and the programme was using some very old footage as the guys involved were still alive and they talked about it and the fact of how they hid it from the Germans .Ands yes it did fly I dont hink it was anything spectacular but I think they proved it could have flown a decent distance to clear the castle and surrounding grounds.

Duxford Shackleton
At the end of the day we are still sitting here waiting for someone to answer all our approaches and say something as to if we can be considered a worthy home to preserve and restore the aircraft.

I’ve no doubt the Lightnings at Brunters could take-off and even possibly go around and land safely, but at the end of the day it would still be illegal and who knows what sort of repercussions there would be.
mishaps can happen wlook what nearly ahppened with the Victor ?.
