Stu sent you a pm.
Well, I must be barred, as no matter how many times I’ve tried to register, it keeps saying it can’t load the page… 🙁
Hmm… Let’s try that again

Hi Stu
You are definately not blocked just been on the site and gone through an upgrade so to please everyone NO Adverts. I have also tried to log onto the site from three different computers and no problem.
I dont understand what is wrong I wonder if its a browser or cookie setting thing at your end guys?. I have heard of such things if you have your browser settings to high or dont accept certain cookies it can cause problems
I confess I am a computer illiterate thats why my son set it up for me.Perhaps someone else on the forum may be able to advise ?.
Also hope to have a lot of the other features on line shortly.
Mike
Just a quick question guys with the problems loading are you trying to join an dlink up via Facebook ?or via the site address ? we did have a problem last night with the facebook side of things for some reason.
Web site problems
Sorry guys the site seemed to go on line ok and no issues.
The virus warning seems to be popping up after we put in two links to video footage of Whirlwinds one off U tube the other from Pathe news.
Also note the comment about the pop ups the wife said she was not going to pose like that on line anymore I will have to talk to her again.
bear with us guys will have a fiddle with it this evening and see what we can find thats causing the problem.
I did post earlier that I had a copy of the Pilots notes and would be willing to part with them if it would be of any help:)
Yes Please
I did hear a rumour and strictly that .The Duxford aircraft was possibly being surveyed for possibly being either broken or just dismantled.
But I suspect the IWM who own it will not be very forthcoming as to its future plans.
Go on then I will throw my hat back into the ring.
I cant say which Shaclleton it is but thing slooked bleak for us when we were told that we could not be considered for the aircraft in question because we had a private sponsor who wanted to keep the aircraft not break it and pay for it to be restored to ground running taxiable state if possible. Its new home would be in the North East (ish)of England.
We have done all the leg work we have a company with 5 transporters ready to move the aircraft and keep her safe not scrapped as has been suggested if she does not find a new home. But we have been told that the new owners must be an organisation not an individual.Anyway we HAVE now thrown our hat back into the ring with a vengence on behalf of two organisations to save the aircraft and it go to the same organisation. We have been recently told that there ar etwo other organisation sinterested but with all due respect to them and to be blunt they dont have the sponsor with the funds available we do (growlers dont move for peanuts). And also th eother alledged parties we feel probably want to break the aircraft for spare.
AND NO ITS NOT THE LONG MARSTON AIRCRAFT!!!!.:diablo::diablo::diablo::diablo::diablo:
either that or perhaps a basic aircraft with “Crikey” on it and then the Squadron badges seperately on the T shirt or Cap etc to show the squadron service. With the small number built you could almost list all of them on a T shirt !!!
I am begining to wonder if I should have tranferred the whole lot to the “What have I got myself into” section of the foum !!!!.
The volume of stuff coming through is brilliant guys I have also been put in touch with Nils Hjelmevoll whi is well up with CGI and 3D and apparantly has done an extensive amount on the Whirlwind and has generously offered to share all his material.
I think on the colour scheme why cant we have the “Spirit of Yeovil” with “Crikey “on the nose and each squadron code one on each side ?.I know its not 100% correct but it does reflect the aircraft and its service and the work that has gone into keeping its name alive ?.
Does that mean we have a concensus for the finished full size aircraft ?.
is it to be standard ww2 Camoflauge scheme with markings of both squadrons one each side and Crikey on the Nose or is it the same but an All Silver finish ?
Open to suggestions and ideas ?.
I think Beermat is going into mass production on the latter by the sound of things. Are we going for the better quality kit or are we trying the please Mr Airfix route first ??.
Thanks guys for your responses greatly appreciated keep them coming we need some variety and stuff for not just posters or paintings ultimately.

Working on the Frame 5 build for the next Spit in the jig !!!
Thanks for taking the time to reply Mike.
I hope I didnt come across as trying to be awkward. All I was trying to do was raise a few pertinent questions that others may have been thinking but didnt want to ask.
Jon
No problem dear boy its perfectly normal for people to want to know who?,what?,and where the money goes and what its ultimately for.
Unlike sadly some organisations past projects that had problems we wish to ensure everything is dead right and no one can come back and say “well we did not know that” or “why was it done that way”. Ultimately if everything is transparrant no one fall sout with anyone else and for my way of thinking thats how it has to be and always has .
NEXT ?

Web site
Delay with getting the web site up at the moment is waiting permission from Westland to use the Names”Westland Whirlwind” as we dont want to go ahead and just name the site and upset them at least we have asked.
Mike
..or maybe all contributions to the fund over a certain amount get the option of a model Whirly?
Firebex, would this be a better idea?
The number of contributors and offers of help so far mean we have to at least double the number of kits so far offered to the project !!!
Like the idea of using a standard kit that is available as it makes producing things for them easier. I accept that the Airfix presentation kit is perhaps not the ideal way to go I dont have access to the alternate supplier but if someone else does great stuff !!!!!.
