Dassault never went on bribery , commissions always , but not briberies, the spin docs calls hotels rooms and meals as “bribing”!

BAE just were found to get 1 billions dollars budget in bribing around the world, they are into investigation into 17 countries!

since thales affair, french auttorities and gov are fighting corruption, anyway france in a real democraty, not as the crownies who can shut up thier justice when needed!

Bae payed a beauty instutute to the austrian gov general wife, the one that cleared the bid for bae, haha, Jack come on guy, tell us where dassault bough anything to any influent ppl close of a defence contract in the last 10 years?

. Serge Dassault, of the Dassault company, got a 18-months probationary sentence for bribing the previous mentioned people. In total, Agusta and Dassault paid more than 160 million francs (about 4 million euros) to the Parti Socialiste and Socialistische Partij.

Those meals were pretty substantial, four million of Euros in meals…

PDF about the Captor-E from Selex:
    http://www.selex-sas.com/EN/Common/files/SELEX_Galileo/Products/CAPTOR.pdf

So it´s official, the CAPTOR-E is the backend of the Captor-M with a fixed AESA antenna pluged-in. The “cheap” route…
The “Swash plate” design is thrown into the “future” (or more probably “never”).
    A bit of a disapointment.

I hope it is poor translation. The “Anglo-Swedish consortium BAE” and the “European Eurofighter consortium EADS”, “British Aerospace”. Surprising that “British Aircraft Corporation” wasn’t in there as well.

By the midle of those articles i was expecting something like the “European Consortium Hawker”…

If there was any doubt, EADS Defence and Security CEO Stefan Zoller just confirmed to AW in the first day of Le Bourget that the 24 RAF Saudi “offloads” are indeed “gone”, end of story.
And the rest of the article makes the “TOTAL 123 Typhoon RAF fleet” (forget the “active part”) a very real possibility…
Add that to the Italian Air Force comments about the AESA set above, and this Le Bourget might very well became the “Show Horribilis” for Eurofighter GMBH.

Just to clear this “15 year gap” nonsense, the first AN/APG-77 flight was in a Boeing 757 in 1998, the first RBE-2 AESA was flying in a Mystere in 2002…

I was wondering if the community had any ideas (or even facts 🙂 ) on when the final T2 delivery for the Spanish Air Force would occur?

Anyone here has a clear idea about ITAR regulations and the export of the radar blockers for the SH?
I do imagine that delivering that specific piece of equipment to the Aussies (or the Danish) is quite “straightforward”, but how about Brasil and India?

I have to disagree here. Raptor unit cost is about $150 million and that includes every capability in the current block of AC. That includes AESA it includes the Avionics, it includes the current software code it includes AIM-120, AIM-9X, and SDB integration. While it does not include all future planned upgrades such as HOBs it does include things that Tiffie lacks. further if Raptor where built in numbers like Tiffy there should be no doubt that the price would come down even more. Only an idiot could not grasp the simple fact that having multiple assembly lines like Tiffy makes for a very expensive plane.

    Again?!!!

Bloody hell, how many times have we explained to you the diference between “Unit Fly Away Cost” and “Unit Program Cost”?!
After being lectured some twenty times over by at least five diferent persons and you still dont get it?!

The 14,6 Billions Euros were there to cover the development, construction and fielding of 180 Typhoon´s, that´s a “Unit Program Cost” and you are trying to compare that with the “2009 Unit Fly Away” for the Raptor?!

The equivalent for those 142$ million for each Luftwaffe Typhoon is 360+ $ million for every USAF F-22 Raptor.

The reason that nobody else has had Airborne AESA is two-fold:
    1. They did not have to manufacuting ability for the small scale involved in the modules.
    2. They did not have to money to research that ability.

fyi, The reason that I place the APG-81 as a 3rd gen is:
    1. Small, snap-in, size of modules
    2. Multiple channels per module

The MMICS produced by UMS or by the the “old” Qinetiq foundry in GB are way smaller than the ones used in the AN/APG-77 (or the AN/APG-80) for more than half a decade. The specifications are PUBLIC (for UMS, you just have to go to their site), that includes the sizes and consumed energy.
Selex has had acess to MMICS coming from three sources, the two mentioned above and BAE Systems foundry, the old Lockheed Martin foundry that was sold to the Brits in 2005. That foundry as a huge backlog of ordered MMICS for (guess what) the AN/APG-81. Those same MMICS were made available to Selex right in 2006.

Both the Japanese through Melco (Mitsubishi F-2), Sweeden (Erieye) have airborne radars…

Now whats that on top of HMS Daring?

The first AESA Euro-canard delivered to sqn level will be by 2012

So, can we assume that the JSF weight reduction program has had the same efect of the CWIP for the F-111B? Almost nothing?

Welcome to the world of sarcasm. Either you don’t understand it or didn’t pick up on it in my last post. Try reversing every opinion there to find what I really meant.

And since when were we down to 66 F35’s? First i’ve heard of it.

    Ooops 😮
    Sorry about that…

The serial numbers for JCA have been asked, sixty six of them.

Think about it, the Typhoons are yet to be used on ops in the Mid East, so it is safe. Soothsayer, Nimrod’s and Reaper’s (items which will make a difference in Afghanistan) have quite rightly been cut. Wouldn’t want to show the country up by doing the sensible thing now should we!

    Sensible thing?!!!!!!!!

The JCA fleet as just been cut to 66 units, add 123 Phoons and the entire RAF manned fast jet from here to 2030 might very well be less than 200 airframes… Sensible?
    SIX ****** Sqn´s…
From 31 fast jets sqn´s in 1991, the RAF would be cut to SIX sqn´s in 2025!
    Sensible?
Lets just hope that GB inc doesnt go to war alone with a competent foe for the next three decades…

And if we look really hard at those three programs what would we find?
One complete disasaster (the Nimrod), another program completely dependent on American political leverage, unless GB buy´s an entire Milstar satelite constelation (expensive) and the third program, Soothsayer, a electronic warfare program aimed at intercepting and decoding highly evolved/advanced/complex enemy electrons, the kind of capability that the Talibans have in massive quantities (Radar, highly advanced comunications sets, satelite networks, etc), wait, they DONT have these capabilities, and Soothsayer doesnt bring ANYTHING to ASTAN that the RAF doesnt have right now…

And why the Phoon hasnt been in Astan?
Dont know, but the indecent haste that HM MOD displayed in slashing the Tornado Fmk3 fleet and the QRA mission (four fast jets sqn´s, minimum) might have something to do with it…
It wouldnt be a very sensible “thing” to have Blackjacks and Bears flying over, well… Edinburgh… without being “escorted”, would it?

It has been changed. The 24 Tranche II Typhoon which were original for RAF but now being sold to RSAF won’t have the Tranche II replacement for RAF, which means that the number of Typhoon for RAF has already been decreased from 232 to 208.

And it seems that RAF will have to further reduce the final Typhoon’s number its own now (From 208 to 123 +/- a few reserved fighters ??? )…..

    toan

The original plan was 137 “Phoons” on seven active sqn´s (15 fighters each), plus the OCU (24 fighters), the OEU (4 fighters) and the Falklands detach (another 4 fighters), then there would be 84 airframes (the entire fleet would be rotated) for “attrition and reserves”.

Now we have two scenarios, one, Torpy was mentioning “123 operational Phoon´s”, this would mean deleting one single sqn and a few “attrition” airframes. This would mean (roughly) slashing 20 to 25 airframes. Those 24 Saudi Phoons T2 would be the most obvious candidates.
Then we have the second scenario, it´s called the “unmitigated disaster”, a force of only 123 airframes would mean four sqn´s and a very small OCU, the absolute minimum to maintain QRA over GB…
194 Tornados F2/F3 and 200 Sepecat Jaguar would be replaced by 123 Typhoon´s, or if we want a more optimistic view, seven sqn´s (3 Jag´s plus 4 Tornado) would be replaced by four units.
    Blimey…
