The lessons learnt and the technology advancements of TSR2 were reborne into The Tonka.
Who knows, MRA4 may reincarnate.
It was indeed an mess of a project though. We told them that as every Fuse was hand built there could be up to 0.25″ difference in distances between Spars, or even Fuse Frames. They wanted to add a precisely made Wing Box onto a hand built job. Yes, the original Assy jigs should make the hand build the same, but ask anybody that has worked on such a line. Adjustments per aeroplane were, and still are, very common.
Which one? Bem or Sandy?
When it was working at all, that is.
They tended to break down rather a lot because the weight of the tank was far more than it’s drive train was designed to cope with.
Not to mention the dodgy steering system.
Great gun and heavy armour, but if a tank can’t move then it becomes a pillbox – and a sitting duck for enemy artillery.
Yes. As the Gerry underwear was on Fire by then, it’s completion was a bit rushed in 1944. Fearing it so much, a well aimed Allied raid took out most of the pdn line too.
Still a beauty though.

But the Isle of Man does and why are there so many banks there and in the Channel Islands? 😉
That’s an offshore tax scam.
As for the Isle of Wight, the way this council is running it, visitors are being driven away. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if they made it more and more difficult for you to bring A/c in. The present Bembridge dispute is between BN and the council I believe.
Cuts, due to the debt crisis….on the Island…
No public toilets. Not even at the beaches.
No tourist informations offices.
One Library. No mobile Library.
50p per person each way on the Floating bridge (All foot traffic was free). Very slight reduction for kids going to school. 50p per person each way for passengers in a car (So it’s no use cramming 27 in a mini).
Roads not maintained and pot-holes that will take your axle off. Some have been maintained, which gives a false sense of security.
Sandown is limited to the time it takes to get all the plans for the housing / shopping through. The council will approve that of course. It lines their pockets.
The Tiger 2. Because it was a decade ahead of the rest and it looked stunning.
If you expand it to Artillery, the current AS-90 is just beautiful. I was fortunate enough to be involved in the development of new Target acquisition S/w for it and was present at a “Show off” testing. “We can fire a shell as heavy as your car for 30 miles and hit the dinner table I was aiming at”. Quote the crew. Marvellous, inspiring, beautiful and Sexy.

Will be watching.
Fog (And other airborne particles) could easily be flattened with a combination of Ultrasound and UHF. Downside is that it boils things, like animals and people.
Or, use the Soviet method to ensure the Arms parades were rain-free. Disperse cement dust into the upwind clouds, the particles attract the moisture which falls as rain, way before the parade. Downside, coating the proletariat and peasants in a film of concrete. Which probably wasn’t seen as a downside then.
Fantastic, fascinating!
It will take more than a few hours….link saved in favourites! Thanks.
Didn’t like the adaptations of our Mozzy. Mozzy or Spit is perhaps 2nd only to Concorde in design beauty.
Did I read 2 years?
Wow, tell her to find a Monk.
If she is genuinely saving it for a Wedding night, then good luck to her.
There are limits for a young man! After the dangerous early teen years of waiting etc. a fortnight was my threshold, but then again I didn’t waste time moving in on obvious no-go’s when all I was looking for was 3 points home win. You look like too nice a lad to be so shallow though.
I prefer the gal in the stripey top. Looks more fun, in all ways.
As already said, bail out. Unhappiness will drive you mental.
It will be painful at first, but apply Wing Walkers law. “Don’t let go of what you have hold of until you have hold of something else”!
So, check out the form with this other gal.

Or stand on a motorway bridge!

Lovely.
Next time, go 100 yards left and get the yellow winkers as they take that junction.
Yes J-20.
That’s what the new fighter is for, Korea and Jap operations. Surprised nobody has mentioned it before.
The J20 is a highly manouverable Strike A/c IMO. As a Fighter, it looks like a Shire Horse in a thoroughbred flat race. If it comes up against some decent Western hardware, it’s toast.
I think the Soviets use RH for such matters.
We have it happen all the time. The main reason people steal them is because they are usually private pilots and want them for when they travel over water themselves. Infact, someone was arrested last week in Exeter for stealing one.
Really? I thought Pilots (a) Were above Pikey Chavness and (b) They OF ALL people should know the consequences of their actions.
I think it may be weekend Sailing types knicking one for that sort of use.
Souvinir? You’d have to have quite a twisted Melon, wanting to collect lifejackets as a souvinir. But it takes all sorts.
Could have been a bet or a dare.
