    This is old hat.
In the early 80’s, Monster Raving Looney (Bless his cotton socks) advocated this, along with the same idea from burning waste at the tip. Further, he advocated building Gym’s next to Old folks homes with the treadmills wired up as generators for heating our oldies. It was brilliant then, it still is….so at last somebody is listening.

Edge of Darkness – Mel Gibbo.

I really enjoyed this. Usual conspiracy story / cover up but well done I thought. I believe it used to be a series? Didn’t see any of those.
Ray Winstone is in it….playing, erm Ray Winstone LoL.

unfortunately the fact everyone was getting LPG conversions atracted the government so now it is negligible and not realy worth the conversion price

    How so? It’s still 70p a litre………..but you are right, 2 things happen: –
    (i) As people need it, the greedy companies will put the price up. The very opposite of the “Traditional” supply/demand curve…..because this is rip-off Britain.
(ii) The Government will force people into needing a product, and then tax the hell out of it. What was the film….You dive into the safety of the grass verge because a Mine went off in the road……but in the grass there are bigger Mines.
    Simple prime example: –
Buses. Privatise them in 1988. The whole bus service in the UK turns to ratship within a year. People are forced into cars. And petrol Duty rockets. Coincidence? My ar5e!

Not many survived the following decade – those that did are, as Moggy rightly said, too expensive. Just have a look at any classic car magazine (not that all 60s Fords were classics!) – fancy a Lotus Cortina at £48,000, for example?

    Nice idea, though.

Those Fords had street cred. So, in the days when all young lads would pick up a motor and play with it, dismantle it etc…..it was a 60’s Ford. So, they had their 2nd life a long time back.
Projects ongoing down my very local area. Somebody is doing up a Zephyr 4 (But using it daily in the meantime) and there is a mint condition moggy…..but all its oily guts are from a Metro (Or poss Maestro).
VW fans are always seen getting done up, but the camper clan are now moving on to the much better and more practical Talbots. Or even Comma’s.

So, the Forum has raised a Change Note and a design solution has been considered. The pukka solution of “Mobo out” is not considered viable.

If you look at picture 4 above, and then imagine the new fan being 90 degrees to how it is fitted, the fan base will sit atop the sides of the Sync. where it says ASUS. The holes in the fan base will be secured to the vertical Sync walls with small heatproof tie wraps.
This will give a 1/4inch ish gap under the fan to let all that air out. Oh, I think I said it was sucking-off, but the fan is blowing-on to the Sync. Presently the air must be escaping through the gaps of the Dble sided tape, or back on itself, which is bad.

I did the change, but I also changed the fan for one with a max. of 5,000 RPM. The 8k was noisy. 2 weeks on, it’s still running just fine. The air escapes as the fan base is tie-wrapped to the top of the vertical walls of the Sync.

Now saving up for a new Mobo bundle. £1,400 worth. 24gig of Ram and 6tb of disc. Price includes the case and 1 DVD writer plus 1 Blue Ray writer and all the usual ports of course.
It will be a while, bits needed on car first 🙂

I think it is something to do with Key forums and the way Sophos Security sees it / allows it.
Anybody else using Sophos Endpoint Security V9.5?
I am a member of a lot of Forums, and surf a lot and this particular Forum is “My” slowest. But hey, it’s liveable.
….and I sure aint changing Sophos!

You haven’t let me down baz,it seems that whatever question is asked, someone on the forum knows the answer.

    Whilst I’m here

Why do flies and bumblebees bang their heads against a window that’s actually open ? Anyone know ?

Birds too. That’s funny. And men. Do a you tube on “Streaker – Epic fail”. You will laugh at the situation and more so at the laugh of the cameraman.

Like a Dog that can see its target through a fence…..won’t run 6 feet left or right to get through a gate.

Fly’s and Moths go round a lightbulb because they are attracted to the light. WRONG. They still do it when it’s off. Redidual heat? Nope, they do it when it’s stone cold. Maybe they circle round in anticipation of it coming on, and like to be first to land. A Fly’s “Musical Chairs”.
erm, I’m way outside the box and over the left hand Horizon again. Time for bed.
