The theme tune to BBCs ‘Holiday’ always got me going, not because of the tune but because of its siren call to the TV and the promise to a young lad of glimpses of half undressed females on a Spanish beach!

As a piece of music I loved the one to ‘The Life And Times of David Lloyd George’.

Holiday. From the album Arc of a Diver by Steve Winwood. Or are you going back further.

Match of the Day theme has stood the test of time very well.

    Well done.

Remember that feeling of having spare money? Cherish it.

Pirates of the C – On stranger tides.

A little disapointing compared to the others.
    Depp is over-camping the role.
Not enough Sea-borne action in this one.

As a car nut, I have to say the E type was not a great car to own in terms of the reliability and safety etc. All the problems listed above are on every car, more or less.
But it was and (I think) still is, the best looking Sport ever made.

As for the Lightning, it was used for 1 job in the RAF in the main. Climb to intercept the “Bears” asap. Invite them to naff off, then return to base. Mission time 25 mins without drop tanks.
This it did with outstanding success.
And, last time I discussed it with peers (2 years ago) the vertical climb rate of the shiny beauty had not been beaten. Typhoon lags behind it a little. I’m an ex pat now and can’t talk about such stuff on net or phone, as I believe some aspects of the EE L are still classified.

I’m not going to read 8 pages, but I presume someboody has already said what I think. Rubber bullets and Water Guns required. End of.
But the Police are now too worried about going in hard, there is always somebody with a camera and the CCTV in all our cities will catch it all. After that innocent man was knocked to the ground in the last riot, the Police have in mind the legal actions.
As for the riots, guilty black criminal shot by white cop (After cop was shot at). Not the best recipe these days.
The riots that followed are happening because “I love the sound of breaking glass” is adrenaline fed. It is fun and risky….and they may get a 50 inch plasma. “They” being those too thick to actually deserve a job if they ever bother to look for one.
Here on the continent, two things are being discussed.
    1) The Police being a bit of a laughing stock for not grounding the scum.
    2) That the UK youth of today have no respect for their country, property and world opinion..in this Olympic year.
I qualify the 2nd point by “Taring with the same brush” etc. but agree with the 1st.

    I’ve followed Formula 1 ever since the early/mid 80’s when I was (Snippety snip) bye-bye F1…

    100% support that lot.

You forgot the dry wit and intellect of the late great James Hunt.
