The empties at Amy’s is a sick joke. Not funny.
However, my teens saw the death of a friend and on a few occasions a group of us actually did go to the place he died and got totally hammered. That was our way of facing it and also remembering him. We took the empty bottles away though. Probably because IIRC there was a refund from the shop.

As the future Sir Jeremy Clarkson stated on TG. We need a chicken wire grid over the roads, just like bumper cars.
The future will hold a non fossil fuel car. Batteries may or may not be the answer. The power that can be harnessed from an electric motor is vast, but obviously it needs real electricity not rechargeable cells.
Hydrogen, one major problem…..it’s in the hands of the public….which leads to all sorts of problems from accidents, bomb makers etc.
In the meantime, my V8, 287 BHP, 0-60 in 6.1 seconds, 187mph (When chipped which mine isn’t so I’m stuck at 155) 30mpg 1.93 tonne living room is doing just fine.

A few people missing the point on the BBC “Saving costs”. They are making money instead, same bottom line. They sell, or rent off, what people will want to watch because it commands a higher price. So 6M viewers of F! means a big potential demand for Sky to advertise upon. Moto GP? What’s the viewing figures on that? Very specialist I would have imagined, low “Bums on seat” so low potential people to sell to. Unless you add the YouTube uploads of the crashes!

I personally detested the ITV years, was so glad when Beeb got it back. If it’s on Sky Sport, I’ve lost it then. I’ve got the basic Sky and the entertainment package. No Sports or Pay for view.

why on earth would you gold plate a freaking boat? 😎

As it turned out to be a lie (Why say hoax!) but anyway, the term “Copper bottomed” was a term used to describe somebody rich. Because hulls were copper bottomed to keep the animal life off it, and in it. It was very expensive, thus had to be rich.
So, if you were very rich, it could be possible to plate it with Gold instead.

As for selling it to our Navy, I’m afraid it’s far too modern.

    Hi guys,

Thanks for the replies and positive comments. I intend to propose when we go for a weekend away at Celtic Manor in England, it’s a place I have never been but looks superb on the net :).
If you don’t hear from me after the coming Monday, please form a search party and check the Worcester countryside for any patches of fresh earth :p.

    It’s in Wales, boyo.
The cheap rooms face the Sea. Or rather, the distant Sea over the town of Newport.
Good rooms face inland…over the Golf courses.

Your future F.i.L sounds like a pompous ass that may very well appreciate the tradition of asking his permission. It will give him a power kick. If he says no, then go ahead and propose to her. Then tell her that her father said no….stand back and watch their fireworks LoL.
And, are you 100% sure she will say yes?
It also depends on how forthright your gal is, she may not approve of the whole process of being “Given away” at the aisle – which is part n parcel of the permission thing.

It is very very much needed, but it will of course be mis-managed by imcompetant pawns to share holders.
Over here on the continent is the model to be observed to manage a High Speed or a normal rail system.

The couple, bless ’em, are in need of some good living…..they look like they dine on Chips, deep fried Pizzas and other such Scottish favourites.
Good luck to them, they are now the 430th richest people in the UK.

Discussing the movements or Arms or troops should be stayed well clear of.
Even during a War or a skirmish, with a million reporters giving live commentary…they cannot give numbers seen or show all the kit. “I cannot say how many Harriers were involved, but I counted them all out and I counted them all back”.

But use your mind, do you think the real World would stop for a group of protesters? If/how/where and when such kit was moved is of no matter, what matters is the Defence of the civilised world carried on.
