Seems to have worked for him as hes been playing out of his skin of late:diablo:

Well, last night he left his skin elsewhere.
It was a shame to see the English champs ripped apart like that. I was hoping for a fellow Manchester win, and the first 13 minutes looked great.
Then, along came fate with a piece of lead piping and whacked it on the head. I am so NOT looking forward to meeting the likes of Barca next year.

Oh please don’t descend this worthwhile thread into the beliefs of fanatical God botherin types.
From any corner of the book of lies.
Who’s got the best imaginary friend!
Mind you, I don’t care. Makes war = makes more sales. Seemples.

On topic, is it not a coincidence that UFO’s have become less and less “observed” as the technolgy to prove them becomes more available?
If anything entered our skies now, a trillion phone cameras and back pocket point-n-shoots would prove it. But no, they come at night and make all electrical things fail, LoL.
And, the more we understand space, the further away the threat must live. They used to come from Mars, now it must be inter Gallactic.

I’m a believer btw. Simply because there must be a lump of rock going round a suitable star at the right distance to allow life forms to create.

    Rover P6 3.5 litre. V8. Need I say more.
    Can’t argue with that.
V8, nothing to prove sonny boy. LoL.

If I get a RVMirror full of boy racer – because they see a big ole car with a bloke in it – and they expect it to be sluggish……click goes me button on the console, down goes me foot to the special extra bit of kickdown. Their jaw dropped faces as 2 tons of lounge leaves them behind is a joy to see :diablo:

Oh my, Oh my, keep this thread going forever.
The most beautiful object designed by mankind.

Branson could have made the last few pay too, but no way would Airbus and the Governments allow a wide-boy-done-good to run such a flagship.
I was heavily involved in the repair after Paris situation and, years later the eventual refusal of Airbus to grant the licence. Basically they couldn’t be bothered to guarantee the Spares as it was costing a lot to manage 12 ships.
Bransons plan to save 4 and use the rest as donors was good. He was prepared to fund the Spares too. The Main (Non replaceable) structure had thousands of hours left on it too. And, naturally the servicing was always the very best (Apart from latter years in France of course).

More people have been qualified on Space Shuttle than qualified to fly Concorde.

I can still feel the hairs stand up on my neck when I remember seeing it.
A mate of mine, jammy git, had a flight from Ringway to Heathrow on it….they put it on the morning Business Shuttle…it was to celebrate something to do with the shuttle. Early to mid 80’s? Anybody remember?

I’m sure some Md80 drivers will be along soon but I think the Tailcone was jetisoned. It certainly jumped off rather than fell. Only 4 bolts hold the cone on, at approx. 4,8,10 and 2 oclock. Tailcones generally contain the APU but that one looked hollow? Maybe the APU was still attached inside and the final cone was jetisoned in order to let the fire crew get to the inside.
Correct, it is certainly nothing to do with evac. There is a massive Rear Pressure Bulkhead at the back of the Pax cabin.
And yes, a lot of attention was paid to Stbd Engine but I suspect smoke got into it via the inlet and was passing through…so from the rear it could have looked like a fire.

Am I alone? or does anyone else think that that Laker livery is timeless, and would still look at home on a crowded apron today. When you think that this very same livery adorned his Britannia 102 aircraft all those years ago. God rest him.

No, it’s great. I flew NY for £99 with Freddie. Then Greyhound bus non-stop (72 hours…well it stopped to change drivers get fuel etc.) to LA.

I always thought that the DC10 really looked the business compared to the Tristar. Flew on a BCAL 10, many moons ago.

100% the opposite for me. The Tristar looked very elegant IMO. That 3rd lump on the 10 always looked like it was a design afterthought on a Friday afternoon.
