    1. In the lower aft fuselage, forward of the rear airstair.
    2. It will more than likely be a plug-type door, it opens into the cabin.

The Boeing 727 also has a rear entry door.

    Ta.
On 1), the intake for it is still at the root of the fin though?
On 2), Rear Entry doors, no I don’t think I’m talking about the “Normal” rear entry doors which 727 (And other types) had, they came down with stairs attached. The 727 couldn’t have had a tailcone door as there is a JT8D lump in the way. I’ve never heard of a door in the RP Bulkhead until this weekend.
Structuraly that must be a PITA.

PeeDee, I have a Sinclair C5 with a Merc V8 which would blow you away:D
And a Segway with a small block V6 which would give you a run for your money.
    Jim.

I vill be on ze autobahns soon. 4 new boots, new gearbox oil, temporarily unleashed the engine management system. Will I get to the 187 top speed?
I know the car will, but I doubt if I take it past the 155 TBH. Not only will my nerves get the better of me, but the fuel consumption is at 4 maybe 5 mpg at that point.

    Back on topic.
Cars…..you could hear a car round the corner and Name it! Each one had a sound and a personality and of course a look. All from the same Jelly mould now.

There’s another one, Jelly and Blancemange for Sunday treat!

    Nostalgia.
When a ciggy wasn’t 7 shillings EACH! 35p for you younguns.

Vim or Ajax left in the sink overnight.
Dad’s teeth in a large glass with Steradent, overnight.
Shampoo sold in sachets because it was far too expensive to buy a bottle.
Blocks of soap. 2 feet long, 4 be 2. Had to cut it with a hot knife or a cheese wire board.
Brown overalls (Arkwright in Open all hours style) with rubber buttons which fastened on like a cufflink onto a smaller button at the back. This quick release mechanism was to allow removal of them before they went for a boil wash (With a dolly blue) and dry in the mangle.

Longshot, look at the very sophisticted (for the era) leading edge, and trailing edge devices on show in my recent photo of a 727 wing !

    Keith 😉

Yes, Boeing led the way by streets and streets on L/e T/e technology.
It wasn’t until latter Airbus’s (Airbi? LoL) did they come in line and perhaps overtake the Boeing…in the case of the A380, they had to do new things to make that complicated wing actually work…and stay within the Span.
Boeing, via APB, presently lead the way in Wing tip devices, mainly blended winglets. The “Fence” on the end of an A320 wing is way behind the APB blended. The 747 winglet is useless in comparison too, but the refit is too expensive. The 747-8 was a new wing, designed to give the benefits of a Winglet, thus doesn’t need big upturned bits on the end.

VeeOne. I think you are thinking the same way I did upon first seeing TRIDENT MAN’s photo ……. I think what we see as the upperdeck of a 747 ….. is in fact the outer wing panel of concorde ????

    Keith 🙂

    LoL. Me too (Blush)
It’s the outer flap of Conc.

It’s a 707 alright, look at the front top of the nacelle.

They were re-engined with the CFM56, similar to the 737-300/400 engine. I think they look really good with the big engines.

I slightly agree, well, they don’t look ugly for sure.

But, they won’t sound anything like as good 🙂

Power and money are a big attraction to men too surly? , it’s not just women. :p

Yes, to an extent. It is on the increase, the more women get very top jobs then the more we mere men will be forced, FORCED I tell ya, to sleep with them for a career move.
But looks over rides all, rich mingers or poor stunners? Latter will win.

What was the name of that labour politician….tiny, ginger, boring, bearded (Ginger), no senso of humour at all and his face looked like a collection of pox. He got a beautiful lass in the office. That is only power, he had nothing else whatsoever going for him.
A women with such attributes could only possibly get a man that had had nine pints and it was 1:55am with nothing else left.

    Thanks.
2 points here which I didn’t know about, at all.
    1) Where is the APU on the MD80’s?
    2) What kind of door is in the Rear Pressure Bulkhead to allow pax escape?
I’ve never known a door in the Bulkhead before, who (Makers) else has them?

    PeeDee.

Was just trying to point out that faith, or even possibly belief, hangs on the fact that it is a tacit acceptance of something for which there is no evidence. I suppose what I’m trying to get at is if someone is a Christian who accepts that God made the heavens and the earth, and then made Adam and Eve to populate the earth, where do these phenomena we call UFO’s come from? It says nothing in the Bible about God making beings to live in other galaxies.

Which begs the questions, if there are indeed living, sentient beings who have the technology to travel from places we don’t even know the existence of, why don’t they either stop and say hello and join us for a cup of tea, or, attack us?

UFO’s do exist. I suspect there is not one person on this planet who has not seen something in the sky which they cannot identify or explain. But visitations from afar a bit harder to believe without supporting, incontrovertible evidence.

I imagine many of these things seen are man made objects which are part of secret projects (PeeDee possibly/probably knows more about this than he is either willing or allowed to say) or they are examples of natural phenomena which science has yet to provide an explanation for.

    Regards,

    Agree 100%.
As for me knowing a bit….does the team really think that technology we see is the leader? There is stuff which won’t appear in the public eye for a decade. Not just the Skunk works stuff, but UK has it’s own baby skunk works too. I worked on a project last year where even it’s name was classified Top Secret. Now I can’t find it on the PC LoL!
And I don’t even get to know about Electronics – I’m a hardware kinda guy.
We naturally assume that an alien will want to attack us, because that is how we think about our Borders etc. I’m sure if they can get to us, they will be more advanced in thought than wiping out a planet or nicking its water etc.
There is no 100% evidence of visitors yet, but I’m sure threre will be. Maybe we will be the ones that find them, we’ve got to get off this planet in the end so we need to get near to another “Safe” and youngish Star.
