Has anybody bought and used one of these small electrally heated casting crucibles for casting aluminium? what is the quality of the casting like?.I have alot of casting of small items to do..is it the way to go ?considering how much I`m spending on casting.

I’m off air now, need to fit the bottom of a Bath Panel plinth, which isn’t parallel or level but needs to be a press fit all the way to remove shear forces off the screws in the main panel…which was “Nursed” into position as the top lip of the bath wasn’t flat. Gonna measure it every 6 inches with a home made slip-guage. (Coupling nut and Bolt!)

So, the mass is travelling at between 10.000 and 40.000 mtrs Per Sec, How does a missile, fired from Earth, PeeDee note…carrying your solar sail, travelling at Gawd only knows what speed TOWARDS the asteroid, miss the mass, slow down turn around and gather enough speed to catch the mass up,self anchor, and deploy the sails, would not the sails be destroyed by the very self same solar wind that would be the panacea to the problem?.

Speed to intercept, we need to be allowed to carry out nuclear explosions in Space. A practice which “The World” has banned itself from. Then we can get to Speeds we need, be it a rebirth of Orion or similar.
And, the particle accelerator may give us some more ideas about travelling slightly faster than my V8. It’s not there just to see what happened at 1 trillionth of a second after the big bang. One day, we know we shall have to leave this planet, the Sun will grow and the Planet will be crisped…..or maybe not (Note 1). However, I’m sure the experiments will tell us how to travel at 99% Speed of Light.

Note 1. There is a possibility that as the Sun grows into a Red Giant, it’s mass will be reducing….so the pull on the Earth will be less, so the orbit of the Earth will increase in diameter, keeping us away from the growing Sun and prolonging the Life of the planet at least twice that of present thinking.
