The solar wind will will push the sail in the opposite to the Sun, so it WILL drag like a chute.
I know this. The context of the questionning was leading to the fact it would be as quick as a chute.

Why should it’s mass be less as it gets bigger?
It’s burning away, there will come a point where it actually burns more than it creates. There is a bit of both at the moment.
As it burns away, the gases will be lighter. But I see what you are saying, where has the mass actually gone? 1 ton of “Stuff” burns. 50% of it is in gas…but 50% is in ash. Repeat the cycle….it will give you Zeno’s paradox……but the mass is still 1 ton, even though it is now 99.99999999999999999% gas. So, the gas must escape from the sun altogether, thus making it less mass. Solar wind and Northern lights will be good in those years!

Oh and it’s Professor Steven Hawking not Hawkins
    That one aint mine.

    in the text.

🙂 No worries chap, Its always good having a different approach 😀

I find that 9/10 windows has all the tools you need to do what needs to be done – You just need to know where to find them and how to use them 😀

    I agree actually.
I don’t wander too far from MS products and Google engine. Purists say this and that is better. But I don’t need 0.000000000000000000000001 of a second better response times! I want a common system to which all the problems can be solved on a general forum or going to the MS forums.
The CCleaner and Regcleaner are tools recommended by MS guru Koroush Ghazi. If you haven’t read his free online book called Tweak Guides, I’m sure you will find it interesting.

Most dictators eventually end up as Gadaffi has done. And some even end up negating the few ‘good’ things that they have done during their reigns. Many western (and some eastern) govts and arms suppliers have Libyan blood on their hands, despite that, his regime WILL fall. No amount of foreign mercenaries or support from other rogue states will prevent that. I only hope that the regimes members, and those instrumental in supplying and supporting them can sleep at night. But then again, monsters never seem to have that problem:(

The whole point is that Number 1 son was running the Country in real terms. Col. was growing old in the background.
He denounced his WMD desires and assisted US in anti terrorist work.
For 22 years he’d bought Russian kit, now he could buy Western stuff, and was doing so, big style. Then he ruins it by turning back into the monster of Lockerbie planning.
Certain British Defence companies were in-country within weeks of Lockerbie by the way. It takes 15 years to broker some Arms deals, and today’s enemies are tomorrows friends. Money has no flag.

Very much so and how that square’s with PeeDee’s view of Libya, following time spent there, in earlier posts I cannot imagine.

I’ve spoken to an ex peer of mine from the days of in-country. They got their staff out as soon as the 1st shot was off, about a fortnight ago. They have also told staff in all the surrounding countries to pack a “Grab-bag”.

He also stated that the country had changed in the last year / 18 months. Police would stop all foreigners and fine them. Back pocket fines. This is the opposite of when I was there, when the Police would stop the other traffic to let us through.
And as far as I know, Human Rights were not perfect then but didn’t appear to be getting worse as the Col. was in the background.
Then he attacks his own, with military kit…..and messes up the future of the country. That Nation actually has so much to offer the West, not least the Oil.

27Vet, the UN. It’s a paper tiger and has been since it was formed. Nobody actually listens to the military warnings from the UN. Not even the US, and they (Ahem) control it.
The UN does do some good work in the area of Humanitarian aid though.

If I live long enough to be around when an asteroid is on a collision course with the Earth, I’d just carry on as normal…no point in worrying/panicing about it…not a lot I can do to stop it. I’d just accept it, and enjoy life whilst it lasts!;)

    erm, live long enough?
    Could be next year!

I clean with regcleaner, and the reg. part of CCleaner.
I’ve run the regedit in start run and searched, however I’ve just done that again and I found a Jessops folder in the HK local machine / software. I exported it to the C drive and deleted it from the Registry. It hasn’t cured it.

edit. I continued the regedit with a “Find next” routine. Found about 12 misc. files! It has removed it, but I’m going to cold boot to make sure.

Done it. Thanks for reminder of Regedit.

All we need to do is zap it with Lazer. Treat it as a big gallstone.
Then, we will save the planet AND have a meteor shower worthy of getting the camera on a tripod!

    Win Win. Next!
