Re: How did you get into historic aviation?

Just been reading the vulcan thread and I was wondering what was the ‘thing’ that got us all interested in aviation?
My dad is a pilot, so i was at airfields all the time, and i realy enjoyed it, the historic bit came in when he bought and rebuilt the At6 Harvard (G-ELMH) and then bought and restored the P-51 Mustang (G-MSTG)

And will Janie be there, Leah?
You will have to wait and see.
The BBC are going to be at Old Buck, probably just the local news covering the anniversary and people who fly in for that.

Oh I am sure they do, as I said I have never flown one, however you didn’t see the size of the guys that he had with him.
No, I didn’t but i have flown in our auster with three big people, And it gets of the ground with no trouble.

Indeed. What are we supposed to do then? Should we get a pizza in or something?
thanks 🙂
the idea of the group is for people to discuss Janie in general, airshows she has been at, pictures of her, what you like about her, dates for shows she is going to be at, open days so you can see Janie ‘at home’, just basic stuff, or if you want to know anything about her, me and chris can do our best to answer them.
Ummm… i guess we need more members! hehehe.
And how you get a pizza and i bring the booze! hehe

I have nothing against Austers they look a nice little plane but I like to make sure I can get off thr runway without sweating.
Austers get off fine from very short runways, good rate of climb with two up and full tanks.
