Does anyone know what the current situation is now? Checked EBay and nothing showing up…..?
Though judging by current intrest being shown or lack thereof not sure it really matters now…. 🙁
How much of the Lincoln still exists? I asked on another thread and was told it had all but gone…??
Does anyone fancy another Forum project? I’d be interested…
I would be if enough support can be drummed up…
Anyone else?
Yes, but at the moment you only have 20 minutes left to get 10 or 20+ people to chirp up….. tall order, but……… 😎
Well assuming it does resurface on EBay what are the chances of stumping up enough interest from people?
My guess is it will reappear on EBay with a slightly reduced price…… Along with 3 engines 😀
Well if there was about 10 – 20 other people showing an interest then i would be happy to contribute a few quid – but from what i have seen that aint going to happen!
But given the number of whole Vulcans and nose sections, maybe a flight deck only would at least mean something tangible was saved? As i said before i would love to see it saved whole (first vulcan i went in after nagging my parents silly to take me up to Blackpool from Merseyside!) but i just dont see anyone being prepared to take it all on…..
How wide a trailer do you have bearing in mind anything over nine feet six and the local police become quite interested!
Who said i had a trailer!? 😉 Was floating the idea out…..
Sorry Jon, did i crop the picture wrong ?
That was my best guess at where the pilots floor would be, as its many, many years since i was last inside a Vulcan 🙁
Oops! Sorry my apologies!! 😮 Failed to pick up on that!! In that case then yes 🙂 Just like that!
I have asked if it could be further cut to the buyers requirements, but no reply.
But something like this portion you mean…..?
Or even more radical than that and chop below the flight deck floor….? Least then could be trailered…
What do other people think?
Think negotiations for the flight deck only would have to be started! 😉
I should add given the choice i would prefer to see it saved as a complete nose but that option is looking increasingly more and more remote…. 🙁
But if you just saved and restored the flight deck area of the nose then surely that would make a decent compromise?? Plus you could take it around the country then!
Who cares about the jet!!!!
Finally Bedsheet Bomber will be heading to a better home. I have spent some time during 1997 looking around (and in) it and even then it looked terrible. Never would I think that it would take nine more years before somebody cared about it. Makes you think, doesn’t it. 🙁
Now, get that Lincoln into shape (and I don’t care who does it, as long as it’s done) 😡
Cheers
Cees
Off topic slightly – how much of the Lincoln is still actually there??
Though judging by what has been said previously I think cost aside there just isn’t the interest there…..
Though always happy to be proved wrong of course! 🙂
