Has anyone gone through Aldon Fergusons book on 611 squadron?
I have just quickly scanned through my copy and found several references and pictures of “Mushroom” Smith – so called as he was a farmer in civilian life.

Only 3 months out ๐
That was 5th Feb 1982 and today is the 5th May.

Nice work Pully, though allow me to post a picture showing the progress you have made on the exterior.

The Aeroplane Collection (TAC) at Hooton Park have not so long ago completed a static restoration of J/1N Alpha G-AJEB. Google their website and drop them a line – they could be useful for rebuild advice, jigs, plans and maybe ‘left-over’ components.
Funny you should say that Brian – we have just rounded up all the leftover spares ready to be disposed.
Drop me an email (address below) or a PM Biggin if of any interest for IZY.

Hmmm…..
Tried to repost them – new name, copied the files etc but Forum Mk2 is having none of it.
So instead have a new picture ๐

Whilst more recently enough progress had been made with the front fuselage join (long way to go yet though), we were able to retrestle the aircraft so that the rear fuselage section could also be moved into position.
So JD is the right length again and starting to look like an aircraft once more.

The weather has certainly hampered our progress so far this year, but that is not to say things haven’t been happening. ๐ For starters, the tailplanes were refitted back in February.

Anything Vampire or Venom wanted and engine spares Goblin or Ghost. Any parts at all, but especially undercarriage parts. If you do have anything please PM me.:)
Whats your project? Just asking as depending on what you have, will affect what is or isnt useful to you.
Jon
Ah….to help give scale I should say that the squares on the rug are approx 9″ square ๐ฎ
Jon
Thanks for welcome & info.
Here is another one – a hand pump for undercarriage. So far I have worked out it is not Anson.

Nicko.
It has been altered in later life, but it is Spitfire by the looks of it –

Would appear Anson VS562 is destined for the same place according to AirVentures Facebook page.
