Forget my last post as the book we are talking about is by Harry Smith. That must be a gold plated book B.B. as it costs £213 from Amazon or $458 in the U.S.!:) Can you believe these prices?:confused:
I tried a local area newspaper search online, but I couldn’t go back that far. I think you would need to do a physical search at the newspaper offices or the local library.
Some superb and unusual action paintings there, not particularly to my taste as predominately military, so I would highly recommend the exhibition held in London each year in July, unfortunately only open for six days, for a more general selection of aviation art.
Paul Allen has twelve planes under active restoration and a further twelve awaiting restoration. Mr. Grumpy would appear to be in the latter half unless it has been sold to another. There always seems to be a conspiracy of silence concerning its future.:confused:
