Great history of the Routemaster on Wiki with licence plates for ‘bus anoraks’. They are an endangered species, but can still be seen on the roads of London.

The nose of a Mk. 32 in front of the picture and a Mk. 21 behind.

My memory of ‘FVT tells me that it was a dark blue colour when I saw it at White Waltham, or am I thinking of another one?

    Addt.info

Just about the noisiest light aircraft I ever flew in, this one, seen when it was F-BEOB, I believe still exists up at Chirk. Anyone know?

    Wicked Willip :diablo:

It may do, but none are currently registered in the U.K.

Addt. info. It was registered G-BEDB and was cancelled in 1991. Wouldn’t have taken much to change that reg!

A single Mars waterbomber will be sent to California to fight the fires that have devestated Southern California these past few days. The Mars will leave Wednesday morning from Sproat Lake on Vancouver Island, it has been directed to the San Diego area where 500,000 people have evacuated to safer areas.

The Mars had a birdstrike on its empennage on its way south and is being checked for damage.:o

Paul, you are quite correct that this is a good arena However, some ‘ contributors’, especially ones who pop up on a first post and then ask a question which seems verging on the inane, and then add a big ironic grin, are difficult to take seriously, and are probably taking the micky out of us, rather than the other way round. It is not terrible thing to do, but it is mischevious, and invites flippant responces.

My thoughts exactly but I didn’t want to extend the discussion further, so we will wait for a response from the initiator but not hold our breath?:)

It is a thirty two year old photo, i.e. non-digital!:D Always thought the engine cowling and probably the front leg were wrong on this aircraft, unlike the French to produce an ugly aircraft, in general terms.

    I love the PIA T7!

Does anybody know what happened to Monarch’s G-MONJ? I flew on her back in May when she was in full FlyMonarch titles!

    Many Thanks

    Adam
