There is a great colour photo in the latest issue of Propliner showing the Guppy as RP-C-8023. The plane has been moved from BASCO to outside European Aviation. There has been no test flight yet, but the destination would seem to be Jahore, Malaysia for HeavyLift who are changing their name to Transglobal.
Sounds genuine and wouldn’t be a surprise to find it on E-Bay in the U.S. As for being NOS (new old stock, there’s an oxymoron!), the photographs show it in poor condition if it was a recent museum exhibit.:confused:
Alternatively any EAA member should be able to look it up for you in the back issues of Sport Aviation magazine. The system was described in there also. Maybe your local library has copies.
Unfortunately I am in Florida and all my mags are in Canada, so I cannot help you.
Likewise, I am in Germany and my magazines are in California, but the plane was featured in a recent issue of ‘Sport Aviation’.
