I disagree there is a Vulcan affect going around at Air shows. I love the Vulcan and attended many air shows in the 1980 and 1990..There was no Vulcan affect then because you could go and see her every weekend during the display season…..It is only now that she has been missed and is back that you have this Vulcan effect…..I for one would not leave an Air show after the Vulcan had displayed unless it was nearing the end and I wanted to beat the traffic home……But many people are attending shows last year and this year just to see the Vulcan…I was at RIAT last year and as soon as the Vulcan was on the runway the crowds amassed to see her and hear her take off… I would and have gone to Bruntingthorpe just to see the Vulcan take off and would go again just to see this one aircraft….
Sorry not to sure of the time
Also displaying at the Goodwood festival of speed on the Sunday
she will be at Waddo but not landing flying in both days from Brize
just spotted about 10 to 15 helicopters over london any one know why… are they practising for the RIAT?????
David are you a supporter of the Vulcan?
would you like to see her fly again?
Is that true ?
How did they get the Vulcan in the museum there..
And i thought XH558 was going there at the end of life.
does anybody know if the Vulcan is landing at Duxford and what day she will arrive. Thanks
What you have just said there is just what was missing on the Saturday the shaking of the earth and and the air in your lungs. even the Vulcan howel was not pressant on the Saturday.
Please dont get me wrong i would rather see her like i did on Saturday than on the ground
I was at Farnbrough this Saturday and it was the first time i had seen Xh558 do a display for over 15 years.
I did manage to see her take off from Brunty back in May.
Does anyone know if there was a problem with the aircraft on Saturday?
I am a massive fan of this aircraft and like most if not all on this forum i have given some of my hard earned cask to get her back to where she is.
I had my 5 year old Son with me who was so excited to finally see her in the air for the first time and my Father who served at Scampton when the Vulcan’s were based there this was also the first time he had seen a Vulcan in 15 years.
Now i know the displays are going to be a gentle and not as impressive as they used to be but i was bitterley dissapointed with the display.
After take off she did 3 flypasts and then landed. Don’t get me wrong it was fantastic to see her flying again and well done to all involved thankyou.
If they are looking for a sponsor they need to make these first display season the best ever and give people the wow factor that was missing on saturday.
My son wondered what all the fuss was about why me and my Dad tried to keep our emotions intact…….
Has she arrived at Fairford yet.
I’m sitting in my tent watching the raptor go through her display. Very impressive
Check the bbc web site they are showing it live at 14:00 I think.
Any news on the Waddington flights today ?
