    From what I undertsand they are being used for REBRO suitable for use over the rough hilly terrain of Afghanistan and recce with the forces on the ground but I stand to be corrected with more knowledgable folks….

    It has been very successful in that, particularly in Afghanistan, because it has a very sophisticated communications equipment on board

    It can act as a large radio system that can pick up messages from troops on the ground and relay them for them. It is also able to scan the ground and send real time video back to commanders at the bases.

    Basically you will leave Liverpool on a Northwesterly heading, on your right or left depending where you sit you may on may not see Blackpool. The Isle of man will make a brief appearance on the right hand side before the sunny shores of N Ireland are seen on the nose. After a brief descent you will land in Belfast. 😀 😀 😀

    How about some proper subjects to talk about in the threads!

    Why this couldn’t be combined into the other equally annoying thread about a flight from Liverpool to Belfast, I don’t know…

    We have progressed this thread owards and upwards into a CFMU related thread for the workers at the sharp end of route planning….

    A trawl from the press? What?

    I don’t know what that means or if you’re joking, but I’m just a regular aviation enthusiast. If this kind of situation is abnormal maybe somebody should tell the press though yeah. It was very scary to watch, definitely the lowest go-around I’ve ever watched and it sounded like the tower controller lost it judging from the way he was speaking.

    Sorry if my reply upset you, I wasn’t joking, but seeing as you only just joined the forum and this was your first post it is sometimes seen as a trawl by Journo types to illicit information from non accredited sources….
