Would be interested to know how the event went for Brooklands museum trust, was it a sucess for the museum? Is the aerojumble likely to continue at Brooklands?

Any one know when and where the next aerojumble is in the UK?

I had an enjoyable day there today, weather was good, sunny and warm and held out till about 2pm. I thought I would give the deminishing aerojumble some support this year and held a store there. Buisness was pretty much slow but there were certainly many people around. It was good to sit out in the sunshine, meet and network with people, something that that ebay is unable to provide!

There didn’t seem that many aircraft bits and pieces about but I was pleased with a few acquisitions, a Vickers Viscount Throttle box and 3 foot piece of JU-88 wing flap (still in original green and blue paint).

To survive I think the aerojumble definately needs to be amalgamated with the autojumble stuff, in fact its very surpising how much aviation stuff the autojumble guys bring in with them (The Viscount throttle box being one!).

On the whole a very enjoyable day at a great location (much better than Shoreham). Down side was there wasn’t not a great deal of aerojumble stuff about, still not enough to put me off though, I’ll be back next year.

I hope someone manages to save this lovely aircraft, in the terrible event that it is disposed of, I wouldn’t mind purchasing both the seats. (Hopefully someone may even try to save the cockpit at least!)

Don’t know much about control columns, but what was the final verdict?

Was it a B24? If so with the AM buttons could it have been (Big guess here!) British operated perhaps from Coastal Command? or were the AM buttons subsequently added?

Would love to fly in a DC-6, does this aircraft do pleasure flights similar to the rest of the fleet???

In addition I remember sometime last year pleasure flights being advertised in the Vampire T11 and Meteor, I think for £500 and £1,000 respectively. Are these also avialable, just that I haven’t seen them advertised of late?

Can you also be kind enough to PM me with stall details for Brooklands, may try and give it a go this year selling surplus stuff.

I would be interested to know what sort of movements Dunsfold gets? Any interesting machines visit the airfield or alternatively is there anything of resident there?

Obviously we all hope that the Vulcan will fly, but if not the airshows will always have this baby to fall back on. Not to sure how to cut a link in but if you are in Ebay see item 110118675790 . Providing it isn’t seen landing we might just about get away with it!

Yes an abosolute bargain at that price, hope it goes to a good home for restoration. Looking at it brought back fond memories of the 1970’s when the RAF recruitment team travelled up an down the country with a Gnat cockpit, as a kid I use to sit inside it and be mezmorised by all the dials. Some 40’s years later I think I’ll have trouble getting in one. I seriously thought about purchasing this but unfortunately despite my best efforts just could not find the room in the garage, despite it only being a small size (7ft) as cockpits compare (Pity).

Here are some instrument panel projects that I am working on

    1) Blackburn Buccaneer, incidentally if any one has a instrument crate which houses the centre instruments that they want to part with/trade etc please let me know.
    2) Folland Gnat
    3) Right hand tornado panel
    4) Armstrong whitworth Argosy pilots panel
    5) Shorts Belfast co pilots panel (may be willing to trade this one if anyone has anything of interest to swap against).
    6) Handley Page Herald co pilots panel and overhead cockpit panel hanging off my garage wall.

As you can see plenty to be getting on with and very hard to find the time to juggle with the family etc. (As we all know!)

Thankyou for this update, pity as it has been a up and coming airshow over the last 2-3 years. Look forward to 2008. Thanks again.
