(Belated  ) Happy Birthday Daz! Is it going to be one of the bare metal versions or the camo one with the stripes? 🙂
I bought a long sought-after Matchbox 1/32 Spitfire F24 from E-bay. It’s waiting in the wings to be done….
….sought after, mmmm, interesting! I’m sure I have an unbuilt Hasegawa mark V sitting in the loft as well! 😉
Here I am at work…. ‘just how many more of these need undoing before the wing comes off..’ 🙂
Calquin
Fascinating, I have never seen or heard of one of those before, did they share any common (license built?) parts with the Mosquito
….took the word right out of my mouth, fant…. 🙂
Cheers 😀

Erm, has anybody ever had the experience of looking back on a thread and suddenly realising you are one of those people that use the word ‘fantastic’ twice in one sentence 😮

Fantastic, there is no big hurry, if you get a chance to have a look at it some time before Christmas that would be fantastic 🙂

Very much so, there should be some nice pictures of it thanks to a cameraman filming it on the ground from high up an aircraft cleaning ‘cherry picker’ truck! (when the weather was nicer in the morning!)
Mawgan some years ago, the only thing able to fly was the Harrier  weather
MMMM, weather and Cornish airshows, there is a whole thread in itself there 🙁
On a brighter note, the only time I have been to a show in Cornwall with good weather was at Culdrose a couple of years ago. The sky was unusually absolutely empty of clouds (the traditional weather for the day before airshows in those parts!), except for a single little wispy white cloud minding its own business above the middle of the runway…..
….until a certain Sea Vixen pulled up into a climbing slow roll, carefully ingesting the poor defenseless cloud into its intakes, never to be seen again :diablo:
(Just thought I might cheer the thread up with a brighter picture 🙂 )
Has the episode with the Avro Anson been on yet?
(My first and as yet only ride in an Anson, well OK ‘taxi’ ride, was during the filming- though if they have any sense they will have edited out my grinning face peering out of the side window 😀 )
Very nice. I’ll just stick to PSS gliders – less mess/headaches/noise! 😉
Is that the plan for your GWS Spitfire, or are you going to give it an engine, they can be flown either way… 🙂
Just recently got hold of a Hewlet Packard point and press kind of device… I seem to have managed some half decent shots 🙂
I am most pleased with this one, TIP, for a good Spitfire shot on the ground, wait at the end of a Duxford airshow next to the private pilots entry hut at the motorway end, and wait for the HFL Spitfires to taxy past to their hangar, the position of the taxiway and the lighting at this time works a treat, even with a ‘cheap and cheerful’ camera 😀
