First shot is cast nice with the reflection and the rest are brilliant even though you say the backlighting may have affected them but it has’nt.There is always something mysterious about Russian aircraft even if they are old airliners,it must come from the cold war days and watching too many films like the”Ipcress Files”anyway thanks for showing them.:)
Thanks again Steve….You can always rely on a Geordiee mate to have a good word for ya.If you read this first Steve I,ve left the info on the 3 holer on the other part.Cheers and take care Hinnee,:).
727 info
Hi Steve…In case you could’nt make out the reg it is,N60FM and is a B727/27 c/n..19535/456.Colour scheme left over from when the aircraft was used as “Forbes Magazine Jet”.FM on reg reflecting this.I dont know if Braniff have anything to do with the jet now but there name was mentioned and the date on the slide is August 97.I hope this might be of use to you Steve, take care see ya mate….JohnB
Hi SVAS_volunteer….The road in at the back of the airfield is closed to public traffic on show weekends. There is no problem with the enthusiasts that use a nearby site to photograph from and all respect the land.:)
Glad I was able to scan that slide as it must have brought back memories of that weekend for you.If I ever get round to the other lot in the garage I’ll see if there are any more, meanwhile it was interesting to hear about your aircraft and hobby that must be as nice to do as people like me who watch them.Cheers JB.:))
Hi Tenthije….Thanks for looking and finding something of interest. The small little white jet’s registration is G-BKRL and its one of two prototypes made the other being G- BRNM .The photo was taken at F/Bro 1990.The aircraft was made (CMC) who are( Chichester Miles Consultants)and you can look it up on wycapedia.
The Starship is unusual and I think this one went into production as you might see made by Beechcraft.Anyway I hope this info helps.Cheers.:)
Wonder if this one is a tad better.:)
Hi Skybert….Thanks for adding that update and link about those P.38s and as I’ve never seen one before 4 must have been a sight and sound not easy to forget.Cheers….:)
Thanks Keith….You must be a night owl like meself as I’ve just been looking at Seething and our posts must have crossed in cyber space.:)
Forgot all about this little show and by the looks of things it has been a good afternoon, beech staggerwing looks nice.:)
Hi Gy dude….Good of you to say something positive about the images and the 4 ship,I just kept pressing the button and hoped 1 good 1 would come out of it having shot about 4 all told.:)
Glad you recognsed them from a bad copy as I,ll work on my copying again to send it hopefully as a better image for you to record the event,Will be a couple of days before I get round to doing it but I will do it.By the way it was great fun watching them and never really thought about the skill level some of your controllers had till I saw the tail chases.:)
Hi Stephen….A couple you may recognise and both are early 90ish and hope your model/s are in there somewhere.:)
not the best quality I know but I cant get my scanner to stay on focus.:)
Those P38s would have looked a treat in formation,do you think the B.O.B Hurricane did not make the formation as “Elfin Safety” would be paramount as you dont see too many military and civilian formations?
Hi Stephen….Good to see your on the site again and seeing those photos from leeming ,reminded me of my time up there.Harvard looks great and the J.P is nice as well.
I did manage to find 1 nice slide from your time at Elvington with the large scale people and will copy it tomorrow.I hope some of the P47s or at least 1 on there will depict yours. Thanks for sharing your photos.John.B
