I think the way to go is F-1M and then if they can do a deal to build JF-17 they can start to replace the A-4 fleet and in the future replace the F-1M fleet with a second new type or a upgraded JF-17

Andover C-1 was another good looking British type
I like it. Britian shouldve built more of these and update them rather than get Hercules.
The RAF should have had 30 Belfast C-1’s but in the sixty’s the British government needed support for a loan from the international monetary fund which the US gave. However, one of the alleged conditions for this support was that the RAF purchase C-130. The British did buy C-130 and cut the number of Belfast’s to just 10 this said the Belfast was not a tactical airlift however it could carry a load close to that of a A400m *It could carry 150 troops with full equipment, or a*Chieftain*tank*or two*Westland Wessex

At this time the air force is spending money so can’t afford is not really a problem
lets look at what has been ordered in the last few years
2011/ 4 C-27’s cost 200+ million dollars – Six C-295’s will set you back 168 million dollars saving 32 million
2011 / T-6 has been ordered to start replacement of the PC-7 fleet cost about the same as A-29
2012 /12 EC-725 Cougars cost 540+ million dollars
2012 / 2 C-130’s have been requested cost 140+ million dollars
2013 / 1 787-9 cost 243 million
So from 2011 to 2013 they have ordered 1.2 billion dollars of aircraft
Remember in my post there are no Cougars and 6 C-295’s so I have saved 570 million dollars so far
Now also in my post I was going to retire a lot of types and sell them off
29 Bonanza’s @ $250K each so 7.25 million dollars
27 SF-260’s @ $150K each so 4 million dollars
70 182’s@ $120K each so 8.4 million dollars
6 206’s @ $350K each 2.1 million dollars
16 Bell 206’s $500K each 8 million dollars
Adds up 29.7 million dollars add this to 570 million dollars saved earlier = nearly 600 million dollars and all we have done is move some airframes around
We also know that 20 FA-50’s cost 600 million dollars also the cost above do not include maintenance deals

Belfast C-1
It would seem Mexico have gone for the T-6 2 with the first ten delivered a second batch of 20 will come next to form 2 squadrons and last of all a third buy to replace the last of the PC-7’s
The one and only C-47A

I think Mexico like so many air forces in the region need to cut the number of types operated and at some point the government needs to step in and redefine roles and tasking of its air arm’s. I think Mexico has identified the right Amy’s for its air arm’s and now needs to sort out tasking
So once again they like so many need to sort out training with both air force and navy in joint training schools
Define tasking of each force and high light types for future purchase
For me going forward I would start to make changes to end up with a force of
Joint Basic flying school with 35 Zlin Z-242’s
Joint helicopter training school with the 20 MD500’s and 15 Bell 412’s
Joint multi-engine school with 10 turbo commanders
Joint VIP flight
Air forces defined tasking / Air defence / Counter Insurgency over land / transport
Types
18 FA-50’s to replace F-5’s for interception of high fast moving types that may be used for drug running I.E learjets
60 A-29 super Tacanos’s to replace PC-7’s over a 6 to 8 year period
Transfer all Mil-17’s to the air force to give them 40+ for troop and supply movements
Replace the Bell 212’s with Bell 412 over the next 8 years to end up with 30
Keep 50 bell 206’s
8 C-130J’s to replace old fleet
Add 6 C-295 to make 16 and loss the C-27’s
Replace the 4 727’s with 3 KC-767’s or 757 combi
Add up to 30 Hermes 450’s for border patrol
Keep the 3 E99’s
Navy defined tasking / costal defence / Counter Insurgency / Maritime Patrol / SAR
Types
6 C-235 MPA’s + convert the 4 C295’s to MPA’s
6 C212mpa
Add 10 AS565 Panther’s to make 14
Transfer the UH-60 to the Navy + add 1 to make 10 for SAR /Transport
Transfer the 4 CH-53’s to the Navy for heavy transport
Keep the 3 E-2C’s
All other types retired
I think as said what JF-17 offers is the ability to build under license and that will be a good step
As said in my post 145 on this thread a good time line would be
2014 12 F-1M’s enter service
2016 deal signed with China to license build JF-17 plus 8 more F-1’s are found and enter service
2018 first JF-17 enters service
2020 20 JF-17’s in service and A4’s are retired also make a decision to build 18 more JF-17’s or to buy a new Type
2025 the F-1’s are retired and replaced under the 2020 plan
What might be a good fit for the 2020 plan is 30 Mig-29K’s 18 for the Air force and 12 for the Navy
Yep it looks like maybe someone has got hold of the problem by the balls at last the F-1 JF-17 10 year plan could really work giving the airforce some teeth again

Cockpits from the 3 types look the same all have simulated threat and tasking systems
All three jets have the capability to train pilots for the next 30 years and lets not forget that 360 simulators do the job of type integration much cheaper
Working on the thinking that it looks like the old Hawk so it is old and out dated
C-130 first flew in 1954 so C-130J is out of date and can’t be any good at tactical airlift for the next30 years
Chinook first flew in 1961 so the HC-6 will be no good at the job it will do for the next 30 years
Mig-29 first flew in 1977 so Mig-35 no good
Su-27 first flew in 1977 so Su-35 is also no good

Agreed I hope the Mig-31 drivers don’t underestimates the F-15 in the same way you do if it was me I would not underestimate a JF-17 if I had to Fight one
F-16 in the sight’s of Mirage F-1
