about the sound… is it similar to a TU-95.. ??????
i do not like the 2 bit after the name.. too American for me.. i hope the RAF will soon buy there C-17s so they can have a decent name.. we dont only not make aircraft enymore, we dont even name them… why are they called Globmaster 3s in RAF service.. i dont recall them having 1s or 2s… GOD.. CANT WE MAKE AND NAME OUR OWN AIRCRAFT ENYMORE… :dev2:
im not all that bothered how good or bad it was…. they just look so cool dont they.. 😉
i dont know about everyone else.. but i tend to class my all time faves into types, country of origin and eras.. to be honest i tend for some strange reason to like largley forgotten or unpopular “to the masses” types.. like Supermarine Scimitars, F-89 Scorpians, Yak-28 Firebar/Brewers.. i have ever since i can remember had a soft spot for types like them.. saying that i dont think there is a aircraft type ever made that i could say i do not like for one reason or another.. even the pre-WW2 french bombers had there charm, even though they where ****ing ugly… 🙂
i love so many aircraft it is impossible for me to pick a favorite.. this is the best i can do….
British jet…… Blackburn Buccaneer
British prop….. Bristol Beaufighter
American…. F-105 Thunderchief
Russian [Soviet]…. Tu-22 Blinder
rest of world…. Mirage IV-P….. Q-5 Fantan.. 🙂
Hurricane would go with Typhoon as well….
i think it is a massive shame that a Lightning will never grace our skies again.. i was never luckey enough to have seen one flying.. i think there should be at least one example of each important RAF,FAA,AAC type in flying condition… its not only lightnings… but also Phantom, vulcan, Victor, Javelin, Swift, Lincoln, Scimitar, Gannet, etc, etc, etc, etc..
but just like everything else in this world today.. money is the biggest hurdle.. God knows how much it would cost to restore and maintain a flying old timer.. i think the CAA and the government could do a lot more to help the groups of brave people who keep aviation history alive.. but they dont give a toss do they, all they do is put more and more red tape down, which in turn means more money to be spent.. i am just thankful to the people who do there best in keeping Great Britains great aviation history alive and well.. and they are all doing a brilliant job.. considering the red tape they have to plough through…
DR WHO.. 😀 😀 😀 😀
DR WHO.. 😀 😀 😀 😀
i hope here in the UK “the home of the Lightning”… they will beat that record and have 5 or 6 flying at the same time…… 😡
them b*****ds who made that s*** about civies flying complex jets .. want a good kick up the backside… 😡

… WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW..
KAMAN… thank you.. i couldent remember the name.. intermeshing rotors.. a interesting design that never really caught on.. Kamovs co-axiel rotor design has been more succesful… though i am suprised no other helicopter builder has produced one…
Boeing B-47 Stratojet…
what the hell…. replace its 6 engines with 4 J-79s !!.. give it a more stramlined nose line, with all the mod-cons.. increase its size to increase bombload to about 30.000lb.. install 4 wing hardpionts for LGBs or self defence AAMS.. that would have been a awesome bit of kit…. 😉
