Oh, and the SH had to become the fleet defense platform, but it is not an air superiority plane. That role was to be taken by the NATF before it got cancelled. An air superiority plane has to be able to chose when and who to engage. The F-15 can, the F-22 can, the F-14 and F-4 could in their time. The F-18 can’t because a Flanker (for example) will outrun it, and run it out of gas.

Super Hornet is a Multirole aircraft, it can preform air superiority, ground attack and many other roles. So give me proof on how a Sukhoi can out turn the SH or run it out of gas. Please give me a source, in my understanding i never said it was a primary air superiority fighter. I said the super hornet is darn capable in air to air. But it isn’t a bomb truck you’ll want to go to war in, I’ll want to go with the F-35 as the good and better bomb truck.

You see? I told you it was no fun when I’m being realistic. But let’s pretend I didn’t say all that because it would mean it isn’t the coolest airplane in the whole world. Let’s continue to live in fantasy land instead. I’m sure it’s much nicer there.

    Whatever your opinion 😉

Dont worry Growler, it could have been worse few years ago : you may have been a rafale lover…

On the other hand, i wasn’t a Rafale lover back in the years. I was into the F-4 Phantom a while back. But there’s more criticism on the super Hormet but i know those claims are false. Really can’t stand it seeing those crappy comments while their handiling super hornet criticism. Pretty much its from Air power australia that handles crappy false information. That’s what i blame on Hornet criticism. But although it’s not the only plane criticized, it’s the F-35 and F-22 that are mostly critized to.

On the other hand the Super Hornet is my favorite fighter jet. A Hornet lover!

While, I like the South Korean F/A-50 (T-50) Fighter/Trainer. Wouldn’t the Gripen be a far better option???

Gripen is far bigger and faster but not really a good choice since it isn’t a known place. T-50 would be a better option, smaller, lighter, medium top speed, and cheaper.

Oh, I remember how the critics just cut down the Super Hornet at every turn during it’s development and I must admit I was a critic too! Yet, it’s turned out to be very successful design and a very cost effective one to boot!

Yep very successful, but i hated seeing the critics, it was so stupid. But turned out that everybody started hating the JSF program more than another aircraft made. JSF program is the most hated ever since 1997? But o well. Also i hate APA, really gets on my nerves when they talk about the super hornet, they say it will be outclassed by Sukhois, but in reality, the Super Hornet will eat the Sukhois for breakfeast. :dev2: But as of now if seen some news reports on the super hornet from Canada and i see comments and they say the super hornet will be outclassed, I’m like what the crap, it’s from APA. Damn you APA, but the Sukhois will get eaten by the super hornet :dev2:

Really, my only problem then and now. Is it modification to lower it’s RCS are really worthless when carrying external stores. Yet, they do impact performance. So, I see no advantage other than maybe marketing???

modification to lower RCS, is when you are going stealthy like carrying weapons internally, it might do well on the weapon pod for Block III. When carrying external stores, it’s increasing supers RCS beacuse it has big weapons like fuel tanks missiles. But it’s performance makes it only reach Mach 1.4? But the marketing has a advantage, they can leave block II or choose block III for the new super hornet.

Rubbish. China’s WS-10 can’t match todays AL-31s or F100/110s, but those engines are nothing like they were in the early production variants — not just thrust, but SFC, throttle response, MTBO/MTBF, etc. China is chasing a moving target — and catching it. The process may be too slow for the 24hr news cycle, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t happening.

    Ok 😉
