Blah…. I’m really starting to get annoyed by the Hornet/Super Hornet. It has been overwhelming for the past few weeks. Showing up in every thread…
O really? I always get annoyed with the threads about tornado, F-35 and Eurofighter. Does that make sense?
nothing wrong with Kirchner..
look at this mamacita
^
Who that?
only way i would fly an -F…….empty backseat
——–> Wink 😉
Damn! Now china is going to build a WVR Slow Speed DogFighter like the F/A-18C/F! We can’t let them do that! Same as the Raptor.
this one is really nice. As i said before, I really like the look of the 2 seater over the single seat.
the only time a 2 seat plane is ugly: mig-25, eurofighter typhoon, rafale.this two seat plane is also quite nice. recognize it? the hornet replaced this one in the 80s and 90s
Pssshhh….. Yea i know the Hornet replaced the A-7 Corsair.

it will be really hard to fight english. tayphon is in fact, the top three fighter of the 3rd generation (in fact it is only behind j10b and f15!)
so argentina need something from 4th generation like j31 which is for export! j31 is only option argentina has to give 100% victory over tayphon.china and argentina is very close now. they are building helicopters together. this can be expanded to other things.
us and europe cannot offer argentina such level of support.
J-31 is a 5th Gen aircraft not 4th. Get your facts right, i also don’t understand what you mean by the Typhoon being the top 3 of the 3rd Gen area.

Favorite pic of Hornet going transonic. 🙂

super hornet supersonic.

It’s going transonic Viper. About 780mph
Transonic
Mach 0.8-1.2
mph: 610-915
km/h: 980-1,470
m/s: 270-410
Transonic aircraft nearly always have swept wings, delaying drag-divergence, and often feature design adhering to the principles of the Whitcomb Area rule.
it’s basically true that the air superiority planes today won’t get a chance in air to air combat and including the super hornet. super hornets a great air superiority fighter but it’s actually called in reality… a Multi-role aircraft. is called that beacuse there both multi-capable in the 2 main roles. i see your point there but.
but in intercepting role the super hornet doesn’t excel in that role. it’s mach 1.8 and it can’t really intercept but it doesn’t look like a good intercepter but its still a fast plane. growler what people say doesn’t mean it’s true. there judging or critizing it. no matter what you hear.. it’s a hoax or it can be true… but the super hornet is a superior platform and it’s a good air to air craft/ bomber but i like the viper and i like the super so i give some love to the super.
I know the Super Hornet ain’t that much of a capable interceptor. But it can do “Fighter Escort” he? It’s mostly a intercept quite thing but it can escort some of the bombers like B-52 or B-2 or anything that envoles a bomber needed to be escorted or a fighter that has trouble. Mach 1.8 is still fast right?
Meh pic, how about this one?

This is mentioned in the article that has been posted in the opening …

Do not know whether the photos are legit..
Well are they legit? Yes they definitely are real, remember that the carrier folks where outside watching the B-52 bombers flying low about 9 kilometers on the deck. Absolutely amazing what happened in 1990.
Seeing your link reminded me of one that couple of B-52s requested a flyby of USS Ranger.
It happened in 1990 in the Persian Gulf, while carriers and B-52s were holding exercises. B-52s called carrier USS Ranger and asked if they could do a flyby then the carrier controller said yes.
When the B-52s reported they were 9 kilometers out, the carrier controller said he didn’t see them. The B-52s told the carrier folks to look at the ocean. The paint job on the B-52 made it hard to see, but as it got closer, the sailors could make it out, and the water the B-52 jets were causing to spray out. It’s very rare for a USAF plane to do a flyby below the deck of a carrier.
But B-52s had been practicing low level flights for years, to come in under Soviet radar.the B-52 pilots asked the carrier controller if they would like the bombers come around again. The carrier guys said yes, and a lot more sailors had came out to watch the b-52s
