Get Micas. Best of both worlds

It’s a SRAATM. Why that missile? It’s only for the French for their Rafales.

Well if your in a dogfight what what you choose? I’d say the AIM-9X beacuse its much more skinner so it can get at higher speeds, range and better maneuverability. AIM-120 is the other way of it. Aim-120 has been in service for a long time so it’s not very useful but it still is.

    Aim-120 specs
    Weight: 335 pounds (152*kg)
    Length: 12 feet (3.7*m)
    Diameter: 7 inches (180*mm)
    Speed: Mach 4
    Wingspan: 20.7 inches (530*mm)
    range of aim-120:
    AIM-120A/B 55–75 km
    AIM-120C-5 >105 km
    AIM-120D (C-8) >180 km

    Aim-9X and AIM-9 specs

    Primary Function: Air-to-air missile
Contractor: Raytheon Missile Systems, Tucson, AZ
    Date Deployed: AIM-9B:1956
    Propulsion: Solid-propellant rocket
    Length: AIM-9M 9.3 feet AIM-9X 9.9 feet
    Diameter: 5 inches (.13 meters)
    Wingspan: 2 feet 1 inch (0.63 meters)
    Weight: 188 pounds
    Speed: AIM-9M AIM-9X Mach 4+
    Range: Classified
    Guidance System: Passive infrared
Warhead: Annular blast fragmentation (conventional) weighing 20.8 pounds (9.36 kg)

I’d take both but when dogfighting ill want to have the AIM-9X beacuse it has a better maneuverability and has stealth on it that’s why it’s a skinny missile.

anybody who doesn’t recognise the link between the term “awesome” and the Vulcan should be banned from this site. I don’t like Western style aircraft and even I think its awesome. stood under one at the Cold War museum outside Birmingham two years ago, didn’t think how AWESOME it was until I actually saw it

    Why so much hate?

    wow very nais!

why dont Spain do it for all their Hornets?
it would be very useful since its main enemy is Morocco!

did the super hornet also get similar desert colors?

Like what standards on the Super Hornet? Spain doesn’t have Super Hornets.

Scoot, to make things simple for you on IAF vs PAF aircraft

    mig-21 > f-104
    jaguar > a-5
    mig-27 > a-5
    mystere > sabre
    gnat > sabre
    mig-23MF > mirage III
    mirage 2000 = f-16
    mig-29 < f-16
    su-30mki > f-16
    tejas > jf-17

    as for MMRCA
Super Hornet would’ve made a fine ground attack aircraft and replace the Haguar and Mig-27
but Typhoon and Rafale met their requirements better for ToT and they are good aircraft. But maybe Rafale can’t meet the ToT either, some issues going on.
if Rafale failed, then still I prefer Typhoon over Super Hornet.

Super Hornet as a perfect ground attack aircraft? It would be perfect for both Air to Air and Ground roles what’s wrong with you? I guess you missed one there.

the RAF at one point wanted to buy F-14s to ward off Sovjet bombers
I don’t know what happened but they ended up modifying the Tornado into an interceptor to meet its needs
which I heard wasn’t really met until the F.3 variant, which did its job well.

but would the F-14, if it went as planned, been able to do the job?
would its existence affect British interest in Typhoon?

In your dreams Y-20 😀 F-14 would’ve been needed for the BVR Air superiority mission task. It’s what the RAF would’ve had for BVR threats.

    Your Friend,

    Steven
