What’s with this age nonsense? Seriously why do you want to learn about people’s age? What’s the big deal about it. Guys this isn’t a dating website, this is a forum. But anyway until somebody explains to me why do you want my age?
Thanks
Steven

Another favorite F/A-18F squadron. VFA-211 “Checkmates”. 😀 I love the scheme on the Super Hornets. 😀 they never get old.

The TWR is actually above 1, as I understand from a respected Pakistani source, but I admit I don’t have any links to prove that. On a different note, here is a limited comparison that may interest you: http://www.grandestrategy.com/2012/03/43939282-comparison-of-jf-17-other.html
Another WVR favorite:

It says…
The JF-17 scores poorly in this Empty Weight / Wing Area, which is a metric that substitutes for Wing Loading. Only the Su-30MKI is worse off. Again, the small size of the JF-17 would mean that in reality the wing loading would tend to be higher but given the defensive stance of the JF-17 in comparison to IAF fighters, the JF-17 may not be as badly of. Clearly the Mirage 2000 and Rafale C score very highly in this metric, meaning they would tend to perform better at high altitude and high speed fights (hi-hi) projected to be the future of air dominance war fighting. From that perspective, the Eurofighter would trump the fighters listed on this metric.*
Then says…
What is clear however is that if in fact hi-hi is remotely the future of air warfare, then the PAF needs to augment its JF-17 with something more attuned to the aerodynamics of hi-hi combat. It is noted that the Rafale and the PAKFA, not to mention the Mirage 2000 would prove credible challenges from this perspective.
It does tell how it could preform and not preform but PAF really needs to do something with their J-17 for the next Anti-Air warfare.
Is the WVR favorite of yours the F-18 or F-17?
Absolutely.
In BVR not WVR. Due to the AIM-54 Phoenix. Thats how the F-14 scored the kills in dessert storm when Iran Airforce used them to score MIG’s with Phoenix at long ranges.
The F-14 is acknowledged as having a weak roll rate, but good instantaneous turn rate and is inferior to the F-15 in a vertical fight (not surprising given the respect T/W ratios).
Now… a couple of steps could have been taken to improve the F-14:
TVC on both nozzles – due to the wide engine spacing, asymmetric vectoring would augment aileron authority, improving roll rate.
Refitting F119s into the F-14 would bring the thrust/weight ratios up to levels better than the F-15C.
Remember TVC could be a problem. Member the horror of maintenance on the F-14? But i wouldn’t want TVC on F-14 neither the Super Hornet. I would take an F-14 for the BVR platform while the Super Hornet fight in the WVR platform. But these ideas would never work not even in the future. F/A-18E/F might in a 50-50 chance get Meteor in the next couple of years to bring back the long range BVR missile.
The F/A-18 is very good in an extremely slow fight. However, it is also extremely quick to get there due to hideous energy bleed. Anyone fighting a hornet has a much larger energy-maneuverability envelope to work with… meaning a basic tactic of a few quick turns to create some distance and energy differentials and then nail an IR-M up the -18s ass.
F-18 super hornet is the best air superiority fighter and slow speed WVR dogfighter but i know it bleeds faster energy than other aircraft. But glad it has JHMCS, AIM-9x hey? :very_drunk: AIM-9X helps the F/A-18 a lot when its in a WVR fight while AIM-9x has a lot of maneuverability when shooting to a maneuverable fighter. Sooo
I would recommend you reading this paragraph when Super is dogfighting with a F-16:
WVR engagements versus the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet can be quite challenging as well.
The F-16 has a higher thrust-to-weight ratio than the Super Bug and this is an advantage Viper drivers can exploit in close air combat: we can climb 3,000 feet above the F-18, then bunt over to put him in the HUD (Head Up Display) for a gun shot Malebranche, who has also been an exchange pilot in a U.S. Navy Hornet Squadron, says.
However, while it bleeds energy faster than the F-16, the Rhino is much better than the Viper if the dogfight gets slow, because the Hornet handle high angles of attack and point the nose at the opponent easier.

Might one ask how it is decided whether a question is foolish? Or will this question earn me an automatic report to the Moderating team? Just want to be sure I don’t transgress any of your rules Steven.

Hi Steven.
Welcome aboard.I guess you’re in the United States. If so whereabouts??
Also, do you ever get to Europe..?Andy
Yes i live in the United States. It is a good place here so I like to enjoy planes flying in the air and also enjoying the season if so. No I haven’t been to Europe but i also would want to go on a trip to Europe. I think it’s a fun place there to. So anymore questions? Feel free to ask anything.
Thanks for your time.

I like the front view of the F-CK-1A. 😀 It is the primary Air Superiority fighter with Multi-Role added capability for the Republic Of China Taiwan Airforce.
Steven
Serbian Airforce is not the strongest Airforce around. I would let them get a J-17 Thunder it definitely fits them for a both Multi-Role complex fighter.
