F-18 Growler,
They got pushed away quickly due to the discussion on kinematics, but did you happen to read my comments earlier? Please scroll up and give them a read. Calm down bud. It’s going to be okay. You’ll stand to learn a lot.
I’ve read your comment on page 5. Not to mention that I sort of hate when I’m in a forum I always get a “C’mon one day this forum you’ll learn a lot things”. But anyways I’m not a F-35 expert or other aircraft expert but I’m a expert in the Super Hornet because that’s my favorite aircraft. Anyways it’s top speed I know it’s not that great but c’mon the Super Hornet is still fast even faster than cars or most planes that are built in Mach 1. But even though I would really like to see it with the EPE engines so it could become a better DogFighter with that 20% thrust it should be pretty maneuverable with its AMRAAM and AIM-9x. Thought it could be the best DogFighter and can be compared with eurofighter and sukhois T/W ratio and A2A skills for the Super Hornet. Anyway if you didn’t know these aircraft have the same speed.
Rafale Mach 1.8 (NOTE: Rafale used to reach Mach 2 with its GE-F404 engines during demonstrator Rafale)
HAL Tejas Mach 1.8
Super Hornet Mach 1.8
Even with those speeds there still pretty fast but remember Mach 2 speed isn’t useful neither speed. Maneuverability is important.
Bagram Afghanistan Plane Crash
An unidentified individual has allegedly captured Mondayβs cargo plane crash near Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan, that killed its seven crew members.
The video was posted to Live Leak and You Tube Tuesday. Pentagon officials have seen the video and are working to confirm its authenticity.
The plane was not a U.S. military aircraft. It was one of the many contracted airliners that fly in and out of the main logistical hub for U.S. forces in Afghanistan. The aircraft that crashed Monday at about 3:30 p.m. Bagram local time was a National Air Cargo Boeing 747-400F, which appears to be the plane shown in the video.
National Air Cargo owns the plane. It was slated to fly to Dubai carrying unknown cargo. The U.S. and its allies have depended on these types of contracted carriers to carry everything from MRAPs to soldiers into Afghanistan.
As seen in the footage, the aircraft crashed shortly taking off from Bagram. It appears the aircraft stalls after taking a steep ascent shortly after taking off. Taliban leaders have tried to take credit for the crash, but U.S. officials have said they do not suspect a Taliban attack to cause the crash.
The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board has started an investigation into the crash. There is no evidence in the crash footage that an attack caused it.

Jesus people, stop critizing the Super Hornet guys. I don’t care what people say but please it’s a diffrent aircraft. But it’s weight has increased to 23,000 pounds to 32,081 because due to the carrier operations. But please this is NOT a F-35 vs Super Hornet thread you people are going off topic here. Anyways,
Sincerely,
F-18Growler
The hornet is quite the looker.

Long time lurker, first time poster, but thought I would finally jump into the fray. 35aoa’s comments about the Legacy Hornet’s superior maneuverability are 100% accurate. I have had the opportunity to discuss the F/A-18C and E with instructor pilots at VFA-106, who have flown both, and they have confirmed as much to me time and time again. When asked point blank if they would rather be in a Legacy Hornet or a Super Hornet at the merge, 100% of the time they preferred the former to the latter. The Super primarily offers superior sensors, range, and bring-back capability to the boat, but not superior maneuverability.
It may not be what you want to hear, F-18Growler, but it is the truth-and this coming from a guy who considers the Super Hornet his favorite modern combat aircraft. To deny the superiority of the F-35 in many areas is simply folly. Look at it this way, if it truly were as inferior to the already present Super Hornet, why would the Navy be procuring it?
Hmm something doesn’t look right you have 1 post. Are you Scooter? The Navy does NOT produce it. LM does and the F-35 is only good in the Grount Attack arena. But the Super Hornet is a NEW AIRCRAFT and it does have superior manuverablility with ARMED AIM-9X and AMRAAM but wait till the EPE Engine. But these are critical features it doesn’t matter what people say there still critical comments when talking about aircraft there will always be a critical comment. People may find VERY a old post about the Super Hornet but that’s the past it’s not now. Remember Block 1 Super Hornet didn’t have the right stuff so Block 2 Super Hornet came along with its new superior AESA radar and it’s new superior features.
To be clear, the Hornet outperforms the Rhino in just about every way when it comes to maneuverability, speed, acceleration, etc. Obviously they have more gas than us, can carry more ordnance (two more stations and better “bring back” at the boat), and have better systems, but when you are talking about just seat of the pants performance in a close in knife fight, there is a noticeable difference in our favor. The Charles is a supercruising machine, at least when you are talking about a comparatively clean loadout like any of the 5th gen fighters actually supercruise with. With F404-402 motors, it is damn near a 1.0 T/W ratio. We call the Super guys “fat kids” for a reason π
Maneuverability? The Super Hornet is maneuverable with its Armed AMRAAM and it’s AIM-9X. Speed they both have same speed MACH 1.8. Hmmmm I guess your agreeing with Scooter π
The F/A-18E/F are new models don’t be saying its getting outpreformed by the Hornet because the Super Hornet and other aircraft haven’t been proven in actual war lets give this great plane respect. There just dumb civilians trying to criticize the Super Hornet of what it can’t do just like the PAK-FA is not stealthy it’s not as good as the f-35 or something. People make critical comments on things. When war starts aircraft show how good they are in A2A or A2G
