Over the next couple of decades, I think we’ll see more warbirds, not less – more restorations and recoveries, plus the new-build 262s, 190s, Oscars etc, and goodness knows what else. Yes they’re expensive, but there will still be the money available.
Longer term, who knows? As for the fast jets, no chance.

There was a TV documentary about Maskelyne a few months ago, maybe it will be repeated sometime.

If it’s a BoB film, let’s hope for an accurate portrayal, just so those watching it don’t get a wrong view of history.

From a selfish viewpoint, get myself up to solo standard on a P51, via a T6.

If I was giving it away, half each for Carolyn and Elly.;)

I live a few miles from Goodwood and can normally hear if Merlins are doing their thing, and sometimes catch a glimpse, but nothing this weekend – maybe the wind was in the wrong direction 🙁

Ashley, we’re still up for it. Can you clarify – is the ‘Dambusters’ film the Richard Todd movie or something else?

I think RER too, you may need to change at Chatelet if my memory is good.

    Try a Google.

    Am I happy now…

Excellent FS models of my two favourite prop fighters – the Sea Fury, and this…they should have produced it! 🙂

Looks nice, in a speculative colour scheme. I’d like to know where it’s from, I haven’t seen that one before.

    Pic – Pantah

One of the first belt-drive Dukes in the country. Very expensive for the time (£3500 in 1981), and beset with problems, such as needing a gearbox rebuild within a month. When it was working, a fast and stable ride. Turned heads too!
