Well, Well, a white RAF Mark 2 on a gloss green type 202 launcher, you don’t see many colour shots like that, I would say its missing an RAF Crest with Feriens Tego written on it however, and was taken between 1970 and 1983.

I think it was between 70-75, but i do know were, XXV SQD might be.

In my files P/O Dewey was killed in a crash landing of P7286, but I guess the Greatest book says P/O Maxwell crash-landed that Spitfire?

    Hi.
Yes i does, it also puts P/O Maxwell in P7286 in Spitfire The History.
So i would go with the log book and put it down to a mix up in Serials
in the books. makes interesting reading though 🙂
    Thanks Phil.

I believe the correct data for P/O Soden is P7365 XT-Z.

    Hi.
The Greatest SQD book says P7365 was shot down on the 27 OCT 1940
with P/O Dewey as the pilot, but this is the only reference i have on the
    subject.
    Regards Phil.

Do any of you know the correct letter P7350 had (XT- ? ) when she flew with 603 Sqn during 1940. We believe the pilot was P/O Ludwig Martel. I have looked on the net, but so far I have not found the relevant info.

    Cheers Fluffy

    Hi Fluffy
In the book the “Greatest SQD of them All” it puts ludwik Martel in P7350 at 10.10 friday 25 Oct when he was hit in the left leg by shrapnel, he landed
his damaged aircraft and it was repaired :). At 10.15 same day P/O John Soden was flying P7325 when he was shot down over Brede injuring his right leg the aircraft was written off. So somethings don’t add up.

B29s had two seperate bomb bays. The lancs 16 foot bombay could hold a complete spitfire fuselage !

    Hi Peter.
I think the Lancs bomb bay is a lot longer than 16ft, I’m sure it’s about 33ft but i might be wrong.
