Or , indeed, to choose an internationally well known, over aged, near alcoholic, unfit and inadequately equipped diver for any form of sensitive operation.
By using Occam’s Razor, my guess would be that he simply pegged out and his body sank. After 14 months in the water it would not be surprising, to say the least, that whatever was left being held together in a wet suit wouldn’t include the head and hands. A skull was apparently also recovered later.
The “mission” story (with its variations) that we are led to believe, is disturbingly amateurish, ill conceived (by whom?) and in all probability never necessary.
Therein lie the real unanswered questions of this embarrassing episode -probably not to be answered ( if at all ) until 2057.
The first thing to clear up is the fact that Crabb was not at the time a serving officer in the Royal Navy, and the other thing is that people on here
keep going on about sinking the Ordzhonikidze, but don’t mention the fact
that doing so would have murdered the Premier of the Soviet Union, so in fact it’s an assassination attempt, The mission was authorised by the head of MI6 Sir John Sincair who was forced to resign over the affair

like iv’e said before it was just a ill conceived MI6 plot to study the props,
Crabb was overweight and to old for the job, did he get caught, yes, was he planting a mine, no and to think that is bordering on the insane in my view.

There is Goring St in Chorley Lancs, why name a street after somebody who
was dedicated to the total destruction of the United Kingdom is beyond me,
but they are a bit odd in Chorley:D
Sven is a proven club manager and is very good.Has England manager he was rubbish.
Paul
No he’s a very good Manager full stop, he just had crap to work with in the England job, when are people going to open there eyes and see that the best we have for the world stage are not good enough:mad:

Sadly I have to agree with everything you said, but we have some good young players that has not been given a chance McClaren was just Sven in a different suit.
Is that the same Svan thats sitting third in the Prem with Man city, the point is the Players aren’t good enough never have been never will be.

According to Peter Wright ex MI5, the Navy were pressing MI6 to get details
of the ships propellers and that the Soviets had prior warning of the mission.

Well it was only the hurricane that crashed this year and last year I think was accident free not sure?
O so thats ok is it:mad:
I should have made it clearer that I was talking about the friction force between solid bodies in the case of the aircraft wheel-bearing, and that force doesn’t increase with increasing aircraft speed (unlike the ‘drag’ on the aircraft, but more of that later).
The friction that heats up the Space Shuttle is friction against the (thin) air, and air is a fluid (yes, it is :))
That funny I always thought that the Atmosphere was a Gas in it’s free state. If it were true what you are saying about bearings then they would last forever, which is just laughable, i’ll say it again the more friction on a
bearing [speed] the hotter it gets, and the hotter it gets the metal
it’s made of starts to expand until it ether seizes up or breaks up, a simple test rub your hands together slowly, know do it as fast as you can, that heat
is friction, if you could do it fast enough they would blister:D

One of the reasons we put grease into wheel-bearings is to reduce friction but that doesn’t prove that friction increases with speed.
So what makes the Space Shuttle heat up the faster it gets on hitting the Earths atmosphere if it’s not friction, any bearing thats overun will heat up
beyond a point and then break up thats friction, and yes your Aircraft would take off, it gets it’s forward speed from the prop not the wheels, it just that the wheels would go round faster:D
