Very sad indeed….Not wishing to generalise but more 16 year olds are out getting ASBO’s rather than PPL’s!
So cruel to a young man making the most of his life….
God Bless
Thank you for an excellent behind the scenes post!
Every time I walk through the hanger, particularly TFC’s you can ‘feel’ the atmosphere of a determind team!
In 9 years of going to Legends I have NEVER gone away thinking what a waste. THe show is awesome value for money and I defy anyone to show me a better day out for the money!
On top of the engineers, the pilots, groundcrew I’d like to give a big thank you to all those who work relentlesly, stewards, IWM staff, air traffic, fire & rescue crews, car park teams, its endless the amount of people involved to bring the show to life! 🙂
My 10th consecutive Flying Legends and it just gets better!
Well done and Thank You so much to all those who put so much effort in, crews, pilots, stewards, fire crews, IWM staff and operators that made efforts to be there!
Only problem now is a year to wait for Legends 2007! 😀
Once again THANK YOU!!!!
Our French commentator not the greatest as he does talk a bit too much!
Last year as the Balbo was directly overhead! Oh well small price to pay!
Is the notice on the prop of the Grace Spitfire a bit of a ‘dig’ at the organisers?
Like Milestones and Airspace, designed by someones ego! 😡
Very nice.
Though speaking with something of a bias, I can’t help looking at a York and thinking ‘Ooh, Lancaster parts!’
Is it true that the York uses the same wings and tail as a Lancaster? or is that just a crude generalisation! 😮
I think IWM underestimate the poetenial of ‘rolling out’ some of there static exhibits? Lots of people have mentioned on the ‘Lancaster Outside’ thread that they have/will make a special trip to Duxford to see it.
When it comes to airshows at least it gives them something else incase the weather ruins things.
Be nice to see the Mosquito, Swordfish etc on the Legends flightline!
Oh by the way, an absolutly HUGE WELL DONE and THANK YOU to all those who gave time, skills and no doubt some patience in bringing this stunning aeroplane to life. I remeber seeing it as a child in the restoration hanger…. 🙂
I agree! Nice line up of AVRO aeroplanes. Could be a special interest day/weekend.
Get as many AVRO types together?
Before they get put n the big tomb! 😡
BRILLIANT NEWS!
I know lots of people have been working hard for this…..
🙂
The latest RNHF news, including the “Seagull vs Sea Fury” incident at Margate, all here as usual: http://www.royalnavyhistoricflight.org.uk
I chuckled at the heading! 😀
I must say an excellent site, informative and enjoyable to read! Added to my favourites!
🙂
Wonderful pictures…..
I try to do the tour of Kent every few years.
Its sad to think that the airfield of West Malling is no more…the planners don’t give a monkeys, sadly neither I fear do the people who will live there….. 🙁
I think a repaint would be somewhat “Nice but not nessecary” .
Don’t mind what she wears aslong as shes flying…..
I always thought the ‘Legends Bashers’ were being a bit tounge in cheek? As for it being the same? well its an airshow? how much more variation can you get?
If you don’t like it then what airshows do you like?
23 days to go!!!! 😀
CAN NOT WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😎
Its like Christmas as a kid, counting the days…trying to guess what the suprise will be…..
😮
